^33:5He heard the sound of the trumpet, and did not take warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that takes warning shall deliver his soul.

^33:6But if the watchman sees the sword coming, and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned: if the sword comes, and takes any person from among them: he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.

^33:7So you, O son of man, I have set you as a watchman to the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear the Word at my mouth, and warn them from me. ^33:8When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you shall surely die’: if you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at your hand.

^33:9Nevertheless, if you warn the wicked of his way to turn from it: if he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.

^33:10Therefore, O you son of man, speak to the house of Israel, ‘Thus you speak, saying, ‘If our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?’’

^33:11Say to them, ‘As I live,’ says the Lord Jehovah, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways: for why will you die, O house of Israel?’

^33:12Therefore, you son of man, say to the children of your people, ‘The righteous works of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression; as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turns from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteous works in the day that he sins. ^33:13When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live: if he trusts to his own righteous works, and commits iniquity, all his righteous works shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he has committed, he shall die for it.

^33:14Again, when I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die’: if he turns from his sin, and does that which is lawful and right: ^33:15if the wicked restores the pledge, gives back what he had robbed, walks in the Statutes of life, without committing iniquity: he shall surely live, he shall not die. ^33:16None of his sins that he has committed shall be mentioned to him; he has done that which is lawful and right: he shall surely live.

^33:17Yet the children of your people say, ‘The way of the Lord is not equal’; but as for them, their way is not equal. ^33:18When the righteous turns from his righteous works, and commits iniquity, he shall even die thereby. ^33:19But if the wicked turns from his wickedness, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby. ^33:20Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not equal.’ O you house of Israel, I will judge each one of you after his ways.’”

^33:22Now the hand of Jehovah was upon me in the evening (before he that had escaped came); and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning. And my mouth was opened; and I was no longer mute.

^33:23Then the Word of Jehovah came to me, saying, ^33:24“Son of man, they that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, ‘Abraham was one, and he inherited the land; but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.’ ^33:25Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord Jehovah: ‘You eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood; and shall you possess the land? ^33:26You rely upon your sword, you work abomination, and you defile every one his neighbor's wife; and shall you possess the land?’’

^33:27Say this to them, ‘Thus says the Lord Jehovah: ‘As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that are in the forts and in the caves shall die of disease: ^33:28for I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, so that no one shall pass through. ^33:29Then shall they know that I am Jehovah, when I have laid the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed.’’

^33:30Also, you son of man, the children of your people still talk about you by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, each one to his brother, saying, ‘Please, come and hear what is the Word that comes forth from Jehovah.’ ^33:31And they come to you as the people come, and they sit before you as my people. And they hear your words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their covetousness. ^33:32And, see, you are to them like a very lovely song of one that has a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear your words, but they do not do them. ^33:33And when this comes to pass (lo, it will come), then shall they know that a Prophet has been among them.”

^34:1And the Word of Jehovah came to me, saying, ^34:2“Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord Jehovah to the shepherds: ‘Woe to the shepherds of Israel that feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks? ^34:3You eat the fat, you clothe yourself with the wool, and you kill them that are fed; but you do not feed the flock. ^34:4The diseased have you not strengthened; neither have you healed that which was sick; neither have you bound up that which was broken; neither have you brought again that which was driven away; neither have you sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have you ruled them. ^34:5And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd; and they became food to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered. ^34:6My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill; moreover, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and no one searched or sought after them.’

^34:7Therefore, you shepherds, hear the Word of Jehovah: ^34:8‘As I live,’ says the Lord Jehovah, ‘surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became food to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd; neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and did not feed my flock,’ ^34:9therefore, O you shepherds, hear the Word of Jehovah; ^34:10thus says the Lord Jehovah: ‘Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves anymore: for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be food for them.’

^34:11For thus says the Lord Jehovah: ‘Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out. ^34:12As a shepherd seeks out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered, so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day. ^34:13And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country. ^34:14I will feed them in a good pasture; and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be. There shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel. ^34:15I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down,’ says the Lord Jehovah.

^34:16‘I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick;

but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment.

¶Complement   Jehovah will judge the corrupt leaders of Israel (34:17 - 31)

^34:17And as for you, O my flock,’ thus says the Lord Jehovah: ‘Behold, I judge between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the male goats. ^34:18Does it seem a small thing to you to have eaten up the good pasture, but you must tread down with your feet the remainder of your pastures? And to have drunk of the deep water, but you must foul the rest of it with your feet? ^34:19And as for my flock, they eat that which you have trodden with your feet; and they drink that which you have fouled with your feet.’

^34:20Therefore thus says the Lord Jehovah to them: ‘Behold, I, even I, will judge between the fat cattle and between the lean cattle. ^34:21Because you have thrust with side and with shoulder, and pushed all the diseased with your horns, until you have scattered them abroad; ^34:22therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no longer be a prey; and I will judge between cattle and cattle.

^34:23And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. ^34:24And I Jehovah will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I Jehovah have spoken it.

^34:25And I will make a Covenant of peace with them, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land; and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods. ^34:26And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing. ^34:27And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am Jehovah, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them. ^34:28And they shall no longer be a prey to the heathen; neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and no one shall make them afraid. ^34:29And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall not be consumed with hunger in the land anymore; neither bear the shame of the heathen anymore.

^34:30Thus shall they know that I Jehovah their God am with them, and that they, even the house of Israel, are my people,’ says the Lord Jehovah. ^34:31‘And you my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God,’ says the Lord Jehovah.’”

^35:1Moreover the Word of Jehovah came to me, saying, ^35:2“Son of man, set your face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it; ^35:3and say to it, ‘Thus says the Lord Jehovah: ‘Behold, O mount Seir, I am against you; and I will stretch out my hand against you, and I will make you most desolate. ^35:4I will lay your cities waste, and you shall be desolate; and you shall know that I am Jehovah.

^35:5Because you have had a perpetual hatred, and have shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end, ^35:6therefore, as I live,’ says the Lord Jehovah, ‘I will prepare you to blood, and blood shall pursue you. Since you have not hated blood, even blood shall pursue you.

^35:7Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that passes out and him that returns; ^35:8and I will fill his mountains with his slain men; in your hills, and in your valleys, and in all your rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword. ^35:9I will make you perpetual desolations, and your cities shall not return; and you shall know that I am Jehovah.

^35:10Because you have said, ‘These two nations and these two countries shall be mine; and we will possess it’, whereas Jehovah was there; ^35:11therefore, as I live,’ says the Lord Jehovah, ‘I will even do according to your anger, and according to your envy which you have used out of your hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I have judged you. ^35:12And you shall know that I am Jehovah, and that I have heard all your blasphemies which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, ‘They are laid desolate; they are given us to consume.’ ^35:13Thus have you boasted with your mouth against me, and have multiplied your words against me; I have heard them.’

^35:14Thus says the Lord Jehovah: ‘When the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate. ^35:15As you rejoiced at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do to you. You shall be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumaea, even all of it; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.’’

^36:1Also, you son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel, and say, ‘You mountains of Israel, hear the Word of Jehovah; ^36:2thus says the Lord Jehovah: ‘Because the enemy has said against you, ‘Aha, even the ancient high places are ours in possession’’, ^36:3therefore prophesy and say, ‘Thus says the Lord Jehovah: ‘Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that you might be a possession to the rest of the heathen, and you are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an infamy of the people’, ^36:4therefore you mountains of Israel, hear the Word of the Lord Jehovah. Thus says the Lord Jehovah to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes, and to the cities that are forsaken, which became a prey and derision to the rest of the heathen that are round about; ^36:5therefore thus says the Lord Jehovah: ‘Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the rest of the heathen, and against all Idumaea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with spiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.’’

^36:6Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, ‘Thus says the Lord Jehovah: 'Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, that because you have borne the shame of the heathen,’ ^36:7therefore thus says the Lord Jehovah: ‘I have lifted up my hand; surely the heathen that are about you, they shall bear their shame.

^36:8But you, O mountains of Israel, you shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel: for they are at hand to come. ^36:9For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown; ^36:10and I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be built; ^36:11and I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit; and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better to you than at your beginnings; and you shall know that I am Jehovah.

^36:12Moreover, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess you, and you shall be their inheritance; and you shall not henceforth bereave them anymore of men.’

^36:13Thus says the Lord Jehovah: ‘Because they say to you, ‘You land devour up men, and have bereaved your nations’; ^36:14therefore you shall devour men no more; neither bereave your nations anymore,’ says the Lord Jehovah. ^36:15‘Neither will I cause men to hear in you the shame of the heathen anymore; neither shall you bear the reproach of the people anymore; neither shall you cause your nations to stumble anymore,’ says the Lord Jehovah.’”

^36:21But I had pity for my holy Name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, where they went.

^36:22Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord Jehovah: ‘I do not do this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for my holy Name's sake, which you have profaned among the heathen, where you went. ^36:23And I will sanctify my great Name, which was profaned among the heathen, which you have profaned in their midst; and the heathen shall know that I am Jehovah,’ says the Lord Jehovah, ‘when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes: ^36:24for I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

^36:25Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean; from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. ^36:26A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. ^36:27And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my Statutes, and you shall keep my Judgments, and do them. ^36:28And you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and you shall be my people, and I will be your God.

^36:29I will also save you from all your uncleannesses; and I will call for the grain, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you. ^36:30And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that you shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.

^36:33Thus says the Lord Jehovah: ‘In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be built. ^36:34And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by. ^36:35And they shall say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities have become fortified, and are inhabited.’

^36:36Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I Jehovah build the ruined places, and plant that which was desolate; I Jehovah have spoken it, and I will do it.’

^36:37Thus says the Lord Jehovah: ‘I will yet for this be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock. ^36:38As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.’’”

^33:14Y diciendo yo al impío, ‘De cierto morirás’; si él se volviere de su pecado, e hiciere juicio y justicia, ^33:15si el impío restituyere la prenda, devolviere lo que hubiere robado, caminare en los Estatutos de la vida, no haciendo iniquidad, vivirá ciertamente y no morirá. ^33:16No se le recordará ninguno de sus pecados que había cometido; hizo según el derecho y la justicia; vivirá ciertamente.

§El complemento   Cuerpo: Jehová juzgará a los malvados pastores y a los líderes corruptos entre su pueblo antes de restaurarlos a la tierra (33:21 - 36:15)

¶Único   El pueblo de Israel se negó a obedecer a Jehová o su Profeta (33:21 - 33)

^33:21Y aconteció en el año duodécimo de nuestro cautiverio, en el mes décimo, a los cinco del mes, que vino a mí uno que había escapado de Jerusalén, diciendo, “La ciudad ha sido herida”.

^33:22Y la mano de Jehová había sido sobre mí la tarde antes que viniese el que había escapado, y había abierto mi boca, hasta que vino a mí por la mañana; y abrió mi boca, y ya no más estuve callado.

^33:23Y vino a mí Palabra de Jehová, diciendo, ^33:24“Hijo de hombre, los que habitan aquellos desiertos en la tierra de Israel, hablan diciendo, ‘Abraham era uno, y poseyó la tierra; pues nosotros somos muchos; a nosotros es dada la tierra en posesión’. ^33:25Por tanto, diles, ‘Así dice Jehová el Señor, ‘¿Coméis con sangre, y a vuestros ídolos alzáis vuestros ojos, y sangre derramáis, y poseeréis ustedes la tierra? ^33:26Estáis sobre vuestras espadas, hacéis abominación y contamináis cada cual a la esposa de su prójimo, ¿y habréis de poseer la tierra?’’

^33:27Les dirás así, ‘Así dice Jehová el Señor, ‘Como vivo yo, que los que están en aquellos asolamientos caerán a espada, y al que está sobre la faz del campo entregaré a las fieras para que lo devoren; y los que están en las fortalezas y en las cuevas, de pestilencia morirán. ^33:28Y pondré la tierra en desierto y en soledad, y cesará la soberbia de su fortaleza; y los montes de Israel serán asolados, que no habrá quien pase. ^33:29Y sabrán que soy Jehová, cuando pusiere la tierra en soledad y desierto, por todas las abominaciones que han hecho’’.

^33:30Y tú, hijo de hombre, los hijos de tu pueblo se mofan de ti junto a las paredes y a las puertas de las casas, y habla el uno con el otro, cada uno con su hermano, diciendo, ‘Venid ahora, y oíd qué Palabra viene de Jehová’. ^33:31Y vendrán a ti como viene el pueblo, y estarán delante de ti como mi pueblo, y oirán tus palabras, y no las pondrán por obra: porque con su boca muestran mucho amor, pero su corazón va en pos de su avaricia. ^33:32Y he aquí que tú eres a ellos como cantor de amores, agradable de voz y que toca bien un instrumento; y oyen tus palabras, pero no las ponen por obra. ^33:33Pero cuando esto sucediere (he aquí, viene), sabrán que hubo Profeta entre ellos”.

¶El complemento   Jehová juzgará a los malvados pastores de Israel (34:1 - 16)

^34:1Y vino a mí Palabra de Jehová, diciendo, ^34:2“Hijo de hombre, profetiza contra los pastores de Israel; profetiza, y diles a los pastores, ‘Así dice Jehová el Señor, ‘¡Ay de los pastores de Israel, que se apacientan a sí mismos! ¿No deben los pastores apacentar los rebaños? ^34:3Coméis la grosura, y os vestís de la lana; la engordada degolláis, pero no apacentáis las ovejas. ^34:4No fortalecisteis las débiles, ni curasteis la enferma; no vendasteis la perniquebrada, no hicisteis volver la descarriada, ni buscasteis la perdida; sino que os habéis enseñoreado de ellas con dureza y con violencia. ^34:5Y ellas fueron dispersadas por falta de pastor; y fueron para ser comidas de toda bestia del campo, y fueron dispersadas. ^34:6Y anduvieron perdidas mis ovejas por todos los montes, y en todo collado alto; y por toda la faz de la tierra fueron dispersadas mis ovejas, y no hubo quien las buscase ni preguntase por ellas’.

^34:7Por tanto, pastores, oíd Palabra de Jehová: ^34:8‘Como vivo yo,’ dice Jehová el Señor, ‘que por cuanto mi rebaño ha venido a ser por presa, y por falta de pastor mis ovejas han venido a ser por comida a todas las fieras del campo; y mis pastores no buscaron mis ovejas, sino que los pastores se apacentaron a sí mismos, y no apacentaron mis ovejas,’ ^34:9por tanto, oh pastores, oíd Palabra de Jehová; ^34:10así dice Jehová el Señor, ‘He aquí, yo estoy contra los pastores; y requeriré mis ovejas de su mano, y les haré dejar de apacentar las ovejas; ni los pastores se apacentarán más a sí mismos; pues yo libraré mis ovejas de sus bocas, y no les serán más por comida’.

^34:11Porque así dice Jehová el Señor, ‘He aquí, yo mismo iré a buscar mis ovejas, y las reconoceré. ^34:12Como reconoce su rebaño el pastor el día que está en medio de sus ovejas esparcidas, así reconoceré mis ovejas, y las libraré de todos los lugares en que fueron esparcidas el día del nublado y de la oscuridad. ^34:13Y yo las sacaré de los pueblos, y las juntaré de las tierras; y las traeré a su propia tierra, y las apacentaré en los montes de Israel por las riberas, y en todos los lugares habitados del país. ^34:14En buenos pastos las apacentaré, y en los altos montes de Israel estará su aprisco; allí dormirán en buen redil, y en delicados pastos serán apacentadas sobre los montes de Israel. ^34:15Yo apacentaré mis ovejas, y yo les haré descansar,’ dice Jehová el Señor.

^34:16‘Yo buscaré la perdida, y haré volver la descarriada, y vendaré la perniquebrada, y fortaleceré a la enferma.

Pero destruiré a la engordada y a la fuerte. Yo las apacentaré con justicia.

¶El complemento   Jehová juzgará a los líderes corruptos de Israel (34:17 - 31)

^34:17Pero ustedes, ovejas mías,’ así dice Jehová el Señor, ‘He aquí yo juzgo entre oveja y oveja, entre carneros y machos cabríos. ^34:18¿Os es poco que comáis los buenos pastos, sino que holláis con vuestros pies lo que de vuestros pastos queda; y que después de beber las aguas profundas, enturbiáis además con vuestros pies las que quedan? ^34:19Y mis ovejas comen lo hollado de vuestros pies, y beben lo que con vuestros pies habéis enturbiado’.

^34:20Por tanto, así les dice Jehová el Señor, ‘He aquí, yo, yo juzgaré entre la oveja engordada y la oveja flaca, ^34:21por cuanto empujasteis con el costado y con el hombro, y acorneasteis con vuestros cuernos a todas las débiles, hasta que las esparcisteis lejos. ^34:22Yo salvaré a mis ovejas, y nunca más serán por rapiña; y juzgaré entre oveja y oveja.

^34:23Y levantaré sobre ellas a un pastor, y él las apacentará; a mi siervo David; él las apacentará, y él será su pastor. ^34:24Yo Jehová seré su Dios, y mi siervo David será príncipe en medio de ellos. yo Jehová he hablado.

^34:25Y estableceré con ellos Pacto de paz, y haré cesar de la tierra las malas bestias; y habitarán en el desierto seguramente, y dormirán en los bosques. ^34:26Y daré bendición a ellas y a los alrededores de mi collado; y haré descender la lluvia en su tiempo, lluvias de bendición serán. ^34:27Y el árbol del campo dará su fruto, y la tierra dará su fruto, y estarán a salvo sobre su tierra; y sabrán que soy Jehová, cuando yo haya quebrado las coyundas de su yugo, y los haya librado de mano de los que se sirven de ellos. ^34:28Y no serán más por presa a las naciones, ni las fieras de la tierra las devorarán; sino que habitarán seguros, y no habrá quien los espante. ^34:29Y levantaré para ellos una planta de renombre, y no serán ya más consumidos de hambre en la tierra, ni ya más serán avergonzados por las naciones.

^34:30Y sabrán que yo Jehová su Dios soy con ellos, y ellos son mi pueblo, la casa de Israel,’ dice Jehová el Señor. ^34:31‘Y ustedes, ovejas mías, ovejas de mi prado, hombres sois, y yo vuestro Dios,’ dice Jehová el Señor’”.

¶Lo opuesto   Jehová hará el monte Seir desolado, porque se unieron en el ataque contra Jerusalén (35:1 - 15)

^35:1Y vino a mí Palabra de Jehová, diciendo, ^35:2“Hijo de hombre, pon tu rostro hacia el monte de Seir, y profetiza contra él; ^35:3y dile, ‘Así dice Jehová el Señor, ‘He aquí yo estoy contra ti, oh monte de Seir, y extenderé mi mano contra ti, y te convertiré en desolación y en soledad. ^35:4A tus ciudades asolaré, y tú serás asolado; y sabrás que soy Jehová.

^35:5Por cuanto tuviste enemistad perpetua, y derramaste la sangre de los hijos de Israel con el poder de la espada en el tiempo de su aflicción, en el tiempo extremadamente malo; ^35:6por tanto, como vivo yo,’ dice Jehová el Señor, ‘que a sangre te destinaré, y sangre te perseguirá; y porque la sangre no aborreciste, sangre te perseguirá.

^35:7Y convertiré al monte de Seir en desolación y en soledad, y cortaré de él al que pasa y al que vuelve. ^35:8Y llenaré sus montes de sus muertos; en tus collados y en tus valles, y en todos tus arroyos ellos caerán muertos a espada. ^35:9Yo te pondré en asolamientos perpetuos, y tus ciudades nunca más se restaurarán; y sabréis que soy Jehová.

^35:10Por cuanto dijiste, ‘Estas dos naciones y estas dos tierras serán mías, y las poseeremos’, aunque Jehová esté allí; ^35:11por tanto, como vivo yo,’ dice Jehová el Señor, ‘Yo haré conforme a tu ira, y conforme a tu celo con que procediste, a causa de tus enemistades con ellos; y seré conocido en ellos, cuando te haya juzgado. ^35:12Y sabrás que yo Jehová he oído todas tus injurias que proferiste contra los montes de Israel, diciendo, ‘Destruidos son, nos han sido dados para que los devoremos’. ^35:13Y os engrandecisteis contra mí con vuestra boca, y multiplicasteis contra mí vuestras palabras; yo lo oí’.

^35:14Así dice Jehová el Señor, ‘Para que se alegre toda la tierra, yo te haré una desolación. ^35:15Como te alegraste sobre la heredad de la casa de Israel: porque fue asolada, así te haré a ti; asolado será el monte de Seir, y toda Idumea, toda ella; y sabrán que soy Jehová’’.

¶Lo opuesto   Jehová poblará las desoladas montañas de Israel con su pueblo (36:1 - 15)

^36:1Y tú, hijo de hombre, profetiza a los montes de Israel, y di, ‘Montes de Israel, oíd Palabra de Jehová; ^36:2así dice Jehová el Señor, ‘Por cuanto el enemigo dijo sobre ustedes, ‘¡Ea! también las alturas perpetuas nos han sido dadas por heredad’’. ^36:3Profetiza por tanto, y di, ‘Así dice Jehová el Señor, ‘Por cuanto os desolaron y os tragaron de todas partes, para que fueseis heredad a las otras naciones, y se os ha hecho caer en boca de habladores, y ser el oprobio de los pueblos,’ ^36:4por tanto, montes de Israel, oíd Palabra de Jehová el Señor; así dice Jehová el Señor a los montes y a los collados, a los arroyos y a los valles, a las ruinas y asolamientos, y a las ciudades desamparadas, que fueron puestas por presa y escarnio al resto de las naciones alrededor; ^36:5por eso, así dice Jehová el Señor, ‘He hablado por cierto en el fuego de mi celo contra las demás naciones, y contra toda Idumea, que se adjudicaron mi tierra por heredad con alegría de todo corazón, con enconamiento de ánimo, para arrojarla por presa’’.

^36:6Por tanto, profetiza acerca de la tierra de Israel, y di a los montes y a los collados, y a los arroyos y a los valles, ‘Así dice Jehová el Señor, ‘He aquí, en mi celo y en mi furor he hablado: porque habéis llevado el oprobio de las naciones’. ^36:7Por lo cual así dice Jehová el Señor, ‘Yo he alzado mi mano: he jurado que las naciones que están a vuestro alrededor han de llevar su afrenta.

^36:8Pero ustedes, oh montes de Israel, daréis vuestras ramas, y llevaréis vuestro fruto a mi pueblo Israel: porque cerca están para venir: ^36:9porque he aquí, yo estoy por ustedes, y a ustedes me volveré, y seréis labrados y sembrados. ^36:10Y haré multiplicar sobre ustedes hombres, a toda la casa de Israel, toda ella; y las ciudades serán habitadas, y las ruinas serán edificadas. ^36:11Y multiplicaré sobre ustedes hombres y bestias, y serán multiplicados y crecerán; y os haré morar como solíais antiguamente, y os haré mayor bien que en vuestros principios; y sabréis que soy Jehová.

^36:12Y haré andar hombres sobre ustedes, a mi pueblo Israel; y te poseerán, y les serás por heredad, y nunca más les privarás de varones’.

^36:13Así dice Jehová el Señor, ‘Por cuanto dicen de ustedes, ‘Comedora de hombres, y matadora de los hijos de tu nación has sido’; ^36:14por tanto, ya no devorarás hombres, y nunca más privarás de hijos a tu nación,’ dice Jehová el Señor. ^36:15‘Y nunca más te haré oír injuria de naciones, ni más llevarás el oprobio de pueblos, ni harás más morir a los hijos de tu nación,’ dice Jehová el Señor’”.

§Único   Conclusión: Jehová tomará a su pueblo de entre los paganos y repoblará las ciudades de Israel con ellos (36:16 - 38)

¶El complemento   Jehová tomará a su pueblo de entre los paganos y les dará un nuevo corazón y un nuevo espíritu para obedecerle (36:16 - 30)

^36:16Y vino a mí Palabra de Jehová, diciendo, ^36:17“Hijo de hombre, morando en su tierra la casa de Israel, la contaminaron con sus caminos y con sus obras; como inmundicia de menstruosa fue su camino delante de mí. ^36:18Y derramé mi ira sobre ellos por la sangre que derramaron sobre la tierra: porque con sus ídolos la contaminaron. ^36:19Y los esparcí por las naciones, y fueron dispersados por las tierras; conforme a sus caminos y conforme a sus obras los juzgué. ^36:20Y entrados a las naciones a donde fueron, profanaron mi santo Nombre, diciéndose de ellos, ‘Éstos son el pueblo de Jehová, y de la tierra de él han salido’.

^36:21Pero he tenido compasión por causa de mi santo Nombre, el cual profanó la casa de Israel entre las naciones adonde fueron.

^36:22Por tanto, di a la casa de Israel, ‘Así dice Jehová el Señor, ‘No lo hago por ustedes, oh casa de Israel, sino por causa de mi santo Nombre, el cual profanasteis ustedes entre las naciones adonde habéis llegado. ^36:23Y santificaré mi grande Nombre, el cual fue profanado entre las naciones, el cual profanasteis ustedes en medio de ellas; y sabrán las naciones que soy Jehová, dice Jehová el Señor, cuando yo sea santificado en ustedes delante de sus ojos. ^36:24Y yo os tomaré de las naciones, y os reuniré de todas las tierras, y os traeré a vuestro país.

^36:25Y rociaré sobre ustedes agua limpia, y seréis limpiados de todas vuestras inmundicias; y de todos vuestros ídolos os limpiaré. ^36:26Y os daré corazón nuevo, y pondré espíritu nuevo dentro de ustedes; y quitaré de vuestra carne el corazón de piedra, y os daré un corazón de carne. ^36:27Y pondré dentro de ustedes mi Espíritu, y haré que andéis en mis Mandamientos, y guardéis mis Decretos y los pongáis por obra. ^36:28Y habitaréis en la tierra que di a vuestros padres; y ustedes seréis mi pueblo, y yo seré vuestro Dios.

^36:29Y os libraré de todas vuestras inmundicias; y llamaré al trigo, y lo multiplicaré, y no os daré hambre. ^36:30Multiplicaré asimismo el fruto de los árboles, y el fruto de los campos, para que nunca más recibáis oprobio de hambre entre las naciones.

¶El complemento   Jehová reconstruirá y repoblará las ciudades de Israel con su pueblo (36:31 - 38)

^36:31Y os acordaréis de vuestros malos caminos, y de vuestras obras que no fueron buenas; y os avergonzaréis de ustedes mismos por vuestras iniquidades, y por vuestras abominaciones.

^36:32No lo hago por ustedes,’ dice Jehová el Señor, ‘sabedlo bien. Avergonzaos y confundíos de vuestros caminos, casa de Israel’.

^36:33Así dice Jehová el Señor, ‘El día que os limpie de todas vuestras iniquidades, haré también que habitéis las ciudades, y las ruinas serán edificadas. ^36:34Y la tierra asolada será labrada, en lugar de haber permanecido asolada a la vista de todos los que pasaron. ^36:35Y dirán, ‘Esta tierra que estaba asolada ha venido a ser como el huerto del Edén; y las ciudades que estaban desiertas y asoladas y arruinadas, están fortificadas y habitadas’.

^36:36Y las naciones que queden en vuestros alrededores, sabrán que yo Jehová reedifiqué lo que estaba derribado, y planté lo que estaba asolado. yo Jehová he hablado, y lo haré’.

^36:37Así dice Jehová el Señor, ‘Aún seré consultado por la casa de Israel, para hacerles esto; los multiplicaré con hombres como un rebaño. ^36:38Como las ovejas consagradas, como las ovejas de Jerusalén en sus fiestas solemnes, así las ciudades desiertas serán llenas de rebaños de hombres; y sabrán que yo soy Jehová’’”.
