^40:3“‘The voice of him that cries in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way of Jehovah! Make straight in the desert a highway for our God! ^40:4Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places smooth.

^40:5“‘And the glory of Jehovah shall be revealed; and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of Jehovah has spoken it.’”

^40:6“‘The voice said, ‘Cry.’ And he said, ‘What shall I cry? All flesh is like grass, and all its beauty is like the flower of the field. ^40:7The grass withers, and the flower fades, because the Spirit of Jehovah blows upon it: surely the people are like grass.

^40:8“‘The grass withers, and the flower fades; but the Word of our God shall stand forever.’”

^40:9“‘O Zion that brings good tidings, go up into the high mountain!

“‘O Jerusalem that brings good tidings, lift up your voice with strength. Lift it up, and be not afraid; say to the cities of Judah, ‘Behold your God!’’”

^40:10“‘Behold, the Lord Jehovah will come with a strong hand; and his arm shall rule for him.

“‘Behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

^40:11“‘He shall feed his flock like a shepherd; he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and he shall carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.’”

^40:21“‘Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? ^40:22It is he that sits upon the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; that stretches out the heavens as a curtain, and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in; ^40:23that brings the princes to nothing; he makes the judges of the earth as vanity. ^40:24Moreover, they shall not be planted; moreover, they shall not be sown; moreover, their stock shall not take root in the earth; and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away like stubble.’”

^40:25“‘To whom then will you liken me, or shall I be equal?’ says the Holy One.

^40:26“‘Lift up your eyes on high; and behold who has created these stars, that brings out their host by number; he calls them all by names by the greatness of his might.

“‘Because he is strong in power, not one is missing.’”

“‘There is no searching of his understanding.’”

^40:29“‘He gives power to the faint, and to them that have no might he increases strength.

^40:30“‘Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall; ^40:31but they that wait upon Jehovah shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary: they shall walk, and not faint.’”

“‘and he that smooths with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, ‘It is ready for the soldering.’

“‘So he fastened it with nails, so that it would not be moved.’”

^41:12“‘You shall seek them, and shall not find them, even them that contended with you; they that make war against you shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nothing: ^41:13for I Jehovah your God will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Fear not; I will help you.’

^41:14“‘Fear not, you worm Jacob, and you men of Israel; I will help you,’ says Jehovah and your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.”

^41:18“‘I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.

^41:19“‘I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia tree, the myrtle, and the oil tree. I will set in the desert the fir tree, the pine, and the box tree together, ^41:20that they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of Jehovah has done this, and the Holy One of Israel has created it.’”

^40:17“‘Todas las naciones ante él son como nada; y le son contados como menos que nada y vanidad’”.

^40:21“‘¿No sabéis? ¿No habéis oído? ¿Nunca os lo han dicho desde el principio? ¿No habéis sido enseñados desde que la tierra se fundó? ^40:22Él está sentado sobre el globo de la tierra, cuyos moradores son como langostas; él extiende los cielos como una cortina, los despliega como una tienda para morar. ^40:23Él reduce a nada a los poderosos, y a los jueces de la tierra hace como cosa vana. ^40:24Como si nunca hubieran sido plantados, como si nunca hubieran sido sembrados, como si nunca su tronco hubiera tenido raíz en la tierra; así que sopla en ellos, se secan, y el torbellino los lleva como hojarascas’”.

^40:25“‘¿A quién, pues, me haréis semejante, o seré igual?’, dice el Santo.

^40:26“‘Levantad tus ojos en alto; y he aquí quién ha creado estas estrellas, que saca a relucir su hueste por número; él los llama a todos por nombres por la grandeza de su poder.

“‘Porque él es fuerte en poder, no falta ninguno’”.

¶El complemento   Jehová el Padre es la fuente de toda fortaleza para aquellos quien esperan por él (40:27 - 31)

^40:27“‘¿Por qué dices, oh Jacob, y hablas tú, Israel, ‘Mi camino está escondido de Jehová, y de mi Dios pasó mi juicio?’.

^40:28“‘¿No lo has sabido? ¿No has oído que el Dios eterno, Jehová, el Creador de los confines de la tierra, no se desmaya, tampoco está cansado?

“‘No hay buscando de su comprensión’”.

^40:30“Los muchachos se fatigan y se cansan, los jóvenes flaquean y caen; ^40:31pero los que esperan en Jehová tendrán nuevas fuerzas; levantarán las alas como águilas, correrán, y no se cansarán, caminarán, y no se fatigarán’”.

“‘Yo Jehová, el Primero y con los Últimos; yo soy él’”.

^41:10“‘No temas: porque yo estoy contigo; no desmayes: porque yo soy tu Dios que te esfuerzo; siempre te ayudaré, siempre te sustentaré con la diestra de mi justicia’”.

^41:11“‘He aquí que todos los que se enojan contra ti serán avergonzados y confundidos; los que contienden contigo serán como nada y perecerán.

^41:12“‘Los buscarás, y no los hallarás, los que tienen contienda contigo, serán como nada, y como cosa que no es, aquellos que te hacen guerra: ^41:13porque yo Jehová tu Dios sostendré tu mano derecha, y te dice, ‘No temas, yo te ayudaré.’

^41:14“‘No temas, tú gusano Jacob, y ustedes varones de Israel: yo te ayudaré,’ dice Jehová tu Redentor, el Santo de Israel”.

¶El complemento   Jehová es el gran benefactor de su pueblo, Israel (41:15 - 20)

^41:15“‘He aquí que yo te he puesto por trillo, trillo nuevo, lleno de dientes; trillarás montes y los molerás, y collados tornarás en tamo. ^41:16Los aventarás, y los llevará el viento, y los esparcirá el torbellino.

“‘Y tú regocijarás en Jehová, te gloriarás en el Santo de Israel’”.

^41:17“‘Los afligidos y menesterosos buscan las aguas, y no las hay; se secó de sed su lengua; yo Jehová los oiré, yo el Dios de Israel no los desampararé.

^41:18“‘En los lugares altos abriré ríos, y fuentes en medio de los valles; tornaré el desierto en estanques de aguas, y en manantiales de aguas la tierra seca.

^41:19“‘Daré en el desierto cedros, acacias, arrayanes, y olivos; pondré en la soledad cipreses, pinos y abetos juntamente; ^41:20para que vean y conozcan, y adviertan y entiendan todos, que la mano de Jehová hace esto, y que el Santo de Israel lo creó’”.
