^19:17And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus;

and fear fell on them all, and the Name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

^19:18And many that believed came, and confessed, and showed their deeds. ^19:19Many of them also who practiced witchcraft brought their books together, and burned them before all men; and they counted their price, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. ^19:20So the Word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.

^19:23And the same time there arose no small stir about that way: ^19:24for there was a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith who made silver shrines for Diana, which brought no small gain to the craftsmen, ^19:25whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation; and he said, “Sirs, you know that by this craft we have our wealth. ^19:26Moreover you see and hear, that not only at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away many people, saying that they are not true gods which are made with hands, ^19:27so that not only this our craft is in danger to become despised; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worships.”

^19:28And when they heard this, they were full of wrath; and they cried out, saying, “Great is Diana of the Ephesians!”

^19:33And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward; and Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defense to the people. ^19:34But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, “Great is Diana of the Ephesians!”

^19:35And when the town clerk had appeased the people, he said, “You men of Ephesus, what man is there that does not know how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter? ^19:36Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, you ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly: ^19:37for you have brought here these men, who are neither robbers of temples, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess. ^19:38Therefore if Demetrius, and the craftsmen who are with him, have a matter against any man, the court days are open, and there are proconsuls: let them bring a charge against one another. ^19:39But if you inquire anything concerning other matters, it shall be determined in a lawful assembly: ^19:40for we are in danger to be called in question for this day’s uproar, there being no cause whereby we may give an account of this gathering.” ^19:41And when he had said this, he dismissed the assembly.

^20:1And after the uproar ceased, Paul called the disciples, and embraced them, and departed to go into Macedonia.

^20:8And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together. ^20:9And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, having fallen into a deep sleep; and as Paul was long preaching, he sank down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead. ^20:10And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him, said, “Trouble not yourselves: for his life is in him.”

^20:20“and how I kept back nothing that was beneficial to you, but have shown you, and taught you publicly, and from house to house, ^20:21testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

^20:22“And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there: ^20:23except that the Holy Spirit witnesses in every city, saying that chains and afflictions await me. ^20:24But none of these things move me; neither do I count my life dear to myself, so that I might finish my racecourse with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the Gospel of the grace of God.”

¶El complemento   En Mileto, Pablo predicó un mensaje de advertencia a los ancianos de su iglesia en Éfeso (20:13 - 31)

^20:13Y nosotros, adelantándonos a tomar la nave, navegamos a Asón, para recoger allí a Pablo; pues él así lo había determinado, queriendo él ir por tierra.

^20:14Y cuando se encontró con nosotros en Asón, tomándolo a bordo, vinimos a Mitilene. ^20:15Y navegando de allí, al día siguiente llegamos delante de Quíos, y al otro día cruzamos a Samos, y nos quedamos en Trogyllium; al día siguiente llegamos a Mileto: ^20:16porque Pablo había determinado navegar adelante de Éfeso, por no detenerse en Asia; pues se apresuraba para, si le fuese posible, estar en Jerusalén el día de Pentecostés.

^20:17Y desde Mileto envió a Éfeso, e hizo llamar a los ancianos de la Asamblea. ^20:18Y cuando vinieron a él, les dijo, “Ustedes sabéis cómo me he conducido entre ustedes todo el tiempo, desde el primer día que entré en Asia; ^20:19sirviendo al Señor con toda humildad, y con muchas lágrimas, y pruebas que me han venido por las asechanzas de los judíos;

^20:20“y cómo nada que os fuese útil he rehuido de anunciaros y enseñaros, públicamente y por las casas, ^20:21testificando a los judíos y a los griegos arrepentimiento para con Dios, y la fe en nuestro Señor Jesús Cristo.

^20:22“Y he aquí, ahora, ligado yo en espíritu, voy a Jerusalén, sin saber lo que allá me ha de acontecer; ^20:23excepto que el Espíritu Santo por todas las ciudades me da testimonio, diciendo que prisiones y tribulaciones me esperan. ^20:24Pero de ninguna cosa hago caso, ni estimo mi vida preciosa para mí mismo; con tal que acabe mi carrera con gozo, y el ministerio que recibí del Señor Jesús, para dar testimonio del Evangelio de la gracia de Dios”.

¶El complemento   Pablo se despidió de los ancianos de su iglesia en Éfeso (20:32 - 38)

^20:25“Y ahora, he aquí, yo sé que ninguno de ustedes, entre quienes he pasado predicando el Reino de Dios, verá más mi rostro. ^20:26Por tanto, yo os protesto en el día de hoy, que estoy limpio de la sangre de todos: ^20:27porque no he rehuido anunciaros todo el consejo de Dios.

^20:28“Por tanto, mirad por ustedes, y por todo el rebaño en que el Espíritu Santo os ha puesto por obispos, para apacentar la Asamblea de Dios, la cual él compró con su propia sangre: ^20:29porque yo sé esto, que después de mi partida entrarán en medio de ustedes lobos rapaces, que no perdonarán al rebaño. ^20:30Y de ustedes mismos se levantarán hombres que hablen cosas perversas, para llevar discípulos tras sí. ^20:31Por tanto, velad, acordándoos que por tres años, de noche y de día, no he cesado de amonestar con lágrimas a cada uno”.

^20:32“Y ahora, hermanos, os encomiendo a Dios y a la Palabra de su gracia, la cual es poderosa para sobreedificaros, y daros herencia con todos los santificados.

^20:33“No he codiciado plata, u oro, o vestidura de nadie. ^20:34Antes ustedes sabéis que para lo que me ha sido necesario, y para los que están conmigo, estas manos me han servido. ^20:35En todo os he enseñado que trabajando así, es necesario sobrellevar a los débiles, y recordar las palabras del Señor Jesús, que dijo, ‘Más bienaventurado es dar que recibir’”.

^20:36Y habiendo dicho estas cosas, se puso de rodillas, y oró con todos ellos. ^20:37Entonces hubo gran llanto de todos; y echándose sobre el cuello de Pablo, le besaban, ^20:38entristeciéndose sobre todo por las palabras que había dicho, de que ya no volverían a ver su rostro; y le acompañaron hasta el barco.
