^22:14And when the hour came, he sat down, and the twelve Apostles with him; ^22:15and he said to them, “With desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer: ^22:16for I say to you, I will no longer eat of it, until it is fulfilled in the Kingdom of God.” ^22:17And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, “Take this and divide it among yourselves: ^22:18for I say to you: I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the Kingdom of God shall come.”

^22:19And he took bread, and gave thanks, and broke it, and gave to them, saying, “This is a symbol of my body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” ^22:20Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is a symbol of the New Covenant in my blood, which is shed for you.”

Is it not he that reclines at the table? But I am among you as he that serves. ^22:28You are they who have continued with me in my trials; ^22:29and I appoint to you a Kingdom, as my Father has appointed to me, ^22:30that you may eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”

^22:31And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon: behold, Satan has demanded to have you, so that he may sift you as wheat. ^22:32But I have prayed for you, so that your faith does not fail. And when you have returned, strengthen your brethren.”

^22:33And he said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you, both into prison, and to death.” ^22:34And he said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster shall not crow this day, before that you shall three times deny that you know me.”

^22:35And he said to them, “When I sent you without purse, and bag, and shoes, did you lack anything?” And they said, “Nothing.” ^22:36Then he said to them, “But now, he that has a purse, let him take it; and likewise his bag. And he that has no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. ^22:37For I say to you, that this that has been written must still be accomplished in me: ‘And he was reckoned among the transgressors’; because the things concerning me have an end.” ^22:38And they said, “Lord, behold, here are two swords.” And he said to them, “It is enough.”

And Peter followed afar off; ^22:55and when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them. ^22:56But a certain maidservant beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, “This man was also with him.” ^22:57But he denied him, saying, “Woman, I do not know him.” ^22:58And after a little while another saw him, and said, “You are also one of them.” And Peter said, “Man, I am not.” ^22:59And about the space of one hour later another confidently affirmed, saying, “Truly this man also was with him: for he is a Galilean.” ^22:60And Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you say.” And immediately, while he still spoke, the rooster crowed. ^22:61And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the Word of the Lord, how he had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you shall deny me three times.” ^22:62And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.

^22:63And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and beat him.

^22:64And when they had blindfolded him, they repeatedly beat him on the face, and asked him, saying, “Prophesy! Who is the one beating you?” ^22:65And many other things they spoke blasphemously against him.

^22:66And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying, ^22:67“Are you the Christ? Tell us.” And he said to them, “If I tell you, you will not believe; ^22:68and if I also ask you, you will not answer me, nor let me go. ^22:69After this, the Son of man shall sit on the right hand of the power of God.” ^22:70Then they all said, “Then are you the Son of God?” And he said to them, “You say rightly that I am.” ^22:71And they said, “Why do we need any more testimony? For we ourselves have heard from his own mouth.”

^23:6When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man was a Galilean. ^23:7And as soon as he knew that he belonged to Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself was also at Jerusalem at that time. ^23:8And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad: for he had wanted to see him for a long time, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him. ^23:9Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing. ^23:10And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused him. ^23:11And Herod with his men of war treated him with contempt, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate. ^23:12And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves.

^23:13And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people, ^23:14said to them, “You have brought this man to me, as one that perverts the people; and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things of which you accuse him; ^23:15no, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, look, nothing worthy of death has been done to him. ^23:16Therefore I will chastise him, and release him.” ^23:17(For of necessity he must release one to them at the feast.) ^23:18And they cried out all at once, saying, “Away with this man, and release Barabbas to us!” ^23:19(Who for a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.) ^23:20Therefore Pilate, willing to release Jesus, spoke again to them. ^23:21But they cried, saying, “Crucify, crucify him!!” ^23:22And he said to them the third time, “Why, what evil has he done? I have found no cause of death in him; therefore I will chastise him, and let him go.”

^23:23And they were insistent with loud voices, demanding that he might be crucified; and the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed. ^23:24And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required. ^23:25And he released to them him that for sedition and murder was cast into prison, whom they had desired; but he delivered Jesus to their will.

^23:26And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and they laid the cross on him, that he might bear it after Jesus. ^23:27And a great company of people followed him, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him. ^23:28But, turning to them, Jesus said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. ^23:29For, behold, the days are coming in which they shall say, ‘Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts which never nursed.’ ^23:30Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us’; and to the hills, ‘Cover us.’ ^23:31For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?”

^23:32And there were also two others, criminals, led with him to be put to death. ^23:33And when they came to the place, which is called Calvary, they crucified him there, and the criminals: one on the right hand, and the other on the left. ^23:34Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them: for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots, dividing the garments among themselves. ^23:35And the people stood beholding; and the rulers also with them derided him, saying, “He saved others; let him save himself, if he is the Christ, the chosen of God!” ^23:36And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar, ^23:37and saying, “If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself.” ^23:38And an inscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, “THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

^23:39And one of the criminals which was hung blasphemed him, saying, “If you are the Christ, save yourself and us!” ^23:40But the other answering rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, seeing you are in the same condemnation? ^23:41And we indeed justly: for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” ^23:42And he said to Jesus, “Remember me, Lord, when you come in your Kingdom!” ^23:43And Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with me in Paradise.”

^23:44And it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. ^23:45And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the Temple was torn in the middle. ^23:46And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit!” And having said this, he gave up the spirit. ^23:47Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, “Certainly this was a righteous man!” ^23:48And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things that were done, struck their breasts, and returned. ^23:49And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood far away, beholding these things.

^23:50And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counselor: who was a just and good man ^23:51(the same had not agreed to their counsel and deed); he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews, who also himself waited for the Kingdom of God. ^23:52This man went to Pilate, and begged him for the body of Jesus. ^23:53And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a tomb that was cut in stone, where no man had ever been laid before. ^23:54And that day was the preparation, and the Sabbath drew on. ^23:55And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the tomb, and how his body was laid. ^23:56And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments, and rested the Sabbath day according to the Commandment.

^24:12Then Peter arose, and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves; and he departed, wondering in himself at that which had come to pass.

^24:25Then he said to them, “O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the Prophets have spoken. ^24:26Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?” ^24:27And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

^24:28And they drew near to the village, where they were going; and he made as though he would have gone further. ^24:29But they compelled him, saying, “Stay with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent.” And he went in to stay with them.

^24:30And it came to pass as he reclined at the table with them, taking the bread, he blessed, and broke, and gave to them. ^24:31And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.

^24:32And they said one to another, “Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?”

^24:45Then he opened their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures; ^24:46and he said to them, “Thus it has been written; and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day, ^24:47so that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in his Name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. ^24:48And you are witnesses of these things; ^24:49and, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you; but wait in the city of Jerusalem, until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

^22:21“Pero, he aquí, la mano de él quien me traiciona está conmigo sobre la mesa. ^22:22Y verdaderamente el Hijo del hombre se va, como se determinó; pero ¡ay de aquel hombre por quien él es traicionado!”. ^22:23Y comenzaron a preguntar entre ellos, cuál de ellos sería el que había de hacer esto.

^22:24Y había también entre ellos una disputa, cuál de ellos debería considerarse el más grande. ^22:25Y él les dijo, “Los reyes de los gentiles ejercen el señorío sobre ellos, y los que ejercen autoridad sobre ellos se llaman benefactores; ^22:26pero no así ustedes; pero el que es el más grande entre ustedes, déjale ser como el más joven; y el que es jefe, como el que sirve: ^22:27para cuál es mayor: ¿el que se reclina en la mesa o el que sirve? ¿No es él quien se reclina en la mesa? Pero yo estoy entre ustedes como el que sirve. ^22:28Ustedes son los que han seguido conmigo en mis pruebas. ^22:29Y designo a ustedes un Reino, como mi Padre me ha designado, ^22:30para que comáis y bebáis en mi mesa en mi reino, y sentaros en tronos, juzgando a las doce tribus de Israel”.

^22:31Y el Señor dijo, “Simón, Simón: he aquí, Satanás ha exigido tenerte, para que él puede tamizar a usted como trigo; ^22:32pero he orado por ti, para que tu fe no falle. Y cuando hayas regresado, fortalece a tus hermanos”.

^22:33Y él le dijo, “Señor, Estoy listo para ir contigo, tanto a la cárcel y a la muerte”. ^22:34Y él dijo, “Te digo, Peter, el gallo no cantará este día, antes de eso negarás tres veces que me conoces”.

§El complemento   Cuerpo: La creencia en Cristo era difícil de encontrar antes de la Resurrección (22:39 - 24:12)

¶Lo opuesto   Jesús oró con sus Apóstoles espiritualmente débiles en el Jardín de Getsemaní antes de Judas le traicionó (22:39 - 51)

^22:39Y él salio, y se fue, como él estaba acostumbrado, al monte de los Olivos; y sus discípulos también le siguieron. ^22:40Y cuando él estaba en el lugar, les dijo, “Orad que no entréis en a tentación”.

^22:41Y se retiró de ellos acerca de un tiro de piedra; y él se arrodilló y rezó, ^22:42diciendo, “Padre, si quieres, quíta esta copa desde mí; sin embargo, no mi voluntad, pero hágase tu voluntad”. ^22:43Y un ángel del cielo se le apareció, fortaleciéndole. ^22:44Y estando en agonía, rezó más fervientemente; y su sudor era como grandes gotas de sangre cayendo al suelo.

^22:45Y cuando se levantó desde la oración y vino a sus discípulos, los encontró durmiendo para la tristeza; ^22:46y les dijo, “¿Por qué dormís? Levantaos, y orad que no entréis en tentación”.

^22:47Y mientras él todavía hablaba, he aquí, una multitud; y él que se llamaba Judas, uno de los doce, fue delante de ellos; y él se acercó a Jesús para besarle. ^22:48Pero Jesús le dijo, “Judas, ¿traicionas al Hijo del hombre con un beso?”.

^22:49Cuando los que estaban a su alrededor vieron lo que seguiría, le dijeron, “Señor, ¿golpearemos con la espada?”. ^22:50Y uno de ellos hirió al sirviente del sumo sacerdote y le cortó la oreja derecha. ^22:51Entonces respondiendo Jesús, y dijo, “Permitid incluso esto”. Y se tocó la oreja y le curó.

¶Lo opuesto   Jesús fue juzgado por el sinédrio incrédulo y condenado falsamente por blasfemia mientras Pedro le negó (23:52 - 71)

^22:52Entonces Jesús dijo a los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y a los magistrados del Templo, y a los ancianos, quien vinieron a él, “¿Habéis salido, como contra un ladrón, con espadas y palos? ^22:53Cuando estaba diariamente contigo en el templo, no levantasteis ninguna manos contra mí; pero ésta es vuestra hora y el poder de la oscuridad”. ^22:54Luego le tomaron, le condujeron y le trajeron a la casa del sumo sacerdote.

Y Pedro le seguía desde lejos; ^22:55y cuando habían encendido un fuego en medio del patio y se sentaron juntos, Peter se sentó entre ellos. ^22:56Pero cierta sirvienta le vio mientras estaba sentado junto al fuego; y ella le miró seriamente, y dijo, “Este hombre también estaba con él”. ^22:57Pero él le negó, diciendo: “Mujer, no conozco a él”. ^22:58Y después de un rato, otro le vio, y dijo, “Tu tambien eres uno de ellos”. Y Pedro dijo, “Hombre, yo no soy”. ^22:59Y sobre el espacio de una hora después, otro afirmó con confianza, diciendo, “En verdad este hombre también estaba con él: porque es un galileo”. ^22:60Y Pedro dijo, “Hombre, no sé lo que usted dice”. Y al instante, mientras él todavía hablaba, el gallo cantó. ^22:61Y el Señor se volvió y miró a Pedro; y Pedro recordó la Palabra del Señor, cómo le había dicho, “Antes de que el gallo cante, me negarás tres veces”. ^22:62Y Pedro, saliendo fuera, lloró amargamente.

^22:63Y los hombres quien arrestaron a Jesús se burlaban de él y le golpeaban.

^22:64Y cuando ellos habían cubierto suyo ojos, le golpearon repetidamente sobre la cara, y le preguntaban, diciendo, “¡Profetiza! ¿Quién es el que te está golpeando?”. ^22:65Y muchas otras cosas, hablaron blasfemamente contra él.

^22:66Y cuando fue de día, se reunieron los ancianos del pueblo, y los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los escribas, y le trajeron en el concilio de ellos, diciendo, ^22:67“¿Eres tú el Cristo? Y él les dijo, “Si os lo dijere, no creeréis; ^22:68y también si os preguntare, no me responderéis, ni me soltaréis. ^22:69Después de esto, el Hijo del hombre se sentará a la diestra del poder de Dios”. ^22:70Entonces todos dijeron, “Entonces, ¿eres el Hijo de Dios?”. Y él les dijo, “Ustedes decís que soy”. ^22:71Y dijeron, “¿Por qué necesitamos algún más testimonio? Porque nosotros mismos hemos escuchado desde su propia boca”.

¶El complemento   Tanto Pilato y Herodes creían que Jesús era inocente de cualquier delito, pero fue condenado a muerte de todos modos (23:1 - 25)

^23:1Y toda la multitud de ellos se levantó, y le llevaron a Pilato. ^23:2Y comenzaron a acusarle, diciendo, “Hemos hallado este hombre pervirtiendo a la nación; y prohibiendo rendir homenaje a César, diciendo que él mismo es Cristo, un Rey”. ^23:3Y Pilato le preguntó, diciendo, “¿Eres tú el Rey de los judíos?”. Y respondiendo él, dijo, “Es como tu dices”.

^23:4Entonces Pilato dijo a los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y a la gente, “No encuentro culpa en este hombre”. ^23:5Y fueron aún más feroces, diciendo, “¡Él agita a la gente, enseñando a todos los judíos, comenzando desde Galilea hasta este lugar!”.

^23:6Cuando Pilato oyó hablar de Galilea, preguntó si el hombre era de galileo. ^23:7Y tan pronto como supo que pertenecía a la jurisdicción de Herodes, le envió a Herodes, quien también estaba en Jerusalén en ese momento. ^23:8Y cuando Herodes vio a Jesús, él estaba extremadamente contento, porque él había querido verle desde hace mucho tiempo, porque había escuchado muchas cosas de él, y él esperaba ver alguna señal hecha por Él. ^23:9Luego él le estaba interrogando con muchas palabras; pero él no le respondió en absoluto. ^23:10Y los principales sacerdotes y los escribas se pusieron de pie y lo acusaron vehementemente. ^23:11Y Herodes, con sus hombres de guerra, le trató con desprecio; y se burlaron de él, le vistieron con una hermosa túnica, y le enviaron nuevamente a Pilato. ^23:12Y aquel mismo día Pilato y Herodes se hicieron amigos; porque antes, ellos eran hostiles el uno hacia el otro.

^23:13Y Pilato, cuando él había llamado juntos a los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y a los magistrados, y al pueblo, ^23:14les dijo, “Usted ha traído a este hombre a mí, como uno que pervierte al pueblo; y he aquí, yo, habiéndole interrogado delante de ustedes, no he encontrado ningún defecto en este hombre con respecto a esas cosas de que le acusáis. ^23:15No, ni aun Herodes: porque os remití a él; y he aquí, nada digno de muerte ha hecho a él. ^23:16Por tanto, yo le castigaré, y le soltaré”. ^23:17(Porque era necesario para él para liberar uno en la Fiesta.) ^23:18Y gritaron todos a la vez, diciendo, “¡Fuera con este hombre, y libera Barrabás a nosotros!”. ^23:19(Quién por una cierta sedición hecha en la ciudad, y por asesinato, fue encarcelado.) ^23:20Por lo tanto, Pilato, dispuesto a liberar a Jesús, les habló nuevamente. ^23:21Pero gritaron, diciendo: “¡Crucifíca, crucifícale!!”. ^23:22Y él les dijo la tercera vez, “¿Por qué? ¿Qué mal ha hecho éste? No he encontrado causa de muerte en él; le castigaré, pues, y le soltaré”.

^23:23Y fueron insistentes con voces fuertes, exigían que él debería ser crucificado; y prevalecieron las voces de ellos y de los principales sacerdotes. ^23:24Y Pilato pronunció que debería ser como ellos requirieron; ^23:25y les entregó a un hombre, que por sedición y asesinato fue encarcelado, a quien habían deseado; pero él entregó a Jesús a la voluntad de ellos.

¶El complemento   Uno de los dos criminales crucificados con Jesús creyó que Él era el Mesías (23:26 - 56)

^23:26Y llevándole, tomaron a un cierto Simón, un cireneiano, quien estaba saliendo del campo; y pusieron la cruz sobre él, para que la llevara después de Jesús. ^23:27Y una gran compañía de personas seguía a él, y de mujeres, quien también lloraban y se lamentaban a él. ^23:28Pero, volviéndose hacia ellas, Jesús dijo, “Hijas de Jerusalén, no lloréis por mí, sino llorad por ustedes mismas y por vuestros hijos: ^23:29porque, he aquí, los dias estan llegando, en el cual dirán, ‘Bienaventuradas las estériles y los úteros que nunca dieron a luz, y los senos que nunca amamantaron’. ^23:30Entonces comenzarán a decir a las montañas, ‘Caed sobre nosotros’; y a los collados, ‘Cubridnos’. ^23:31Porque si ellos hacen estas cosas en el árbol verde, ¿qué se hará en el seco?”.

^23:32Y también habían otros dos, criminales, que fueron llevados con él para ser puesto a la muerte. ^23:33Y cuando llegaron al lugar, que se llama Calvario, le crucificaron allí, y los criminales: uno en la mano derecha, y el otro a la izquierda. ^23:34Entonces Jesús dijo, “Padre, perdónalos: porque no saben lo que hacen”. Y echaron suertes, dividiendo suyos vestiduras entre ellos. ^23:35Y el pueblo estaba de pie, y mirando; y los gobernantes también con ellos le ridiculizaron, diciendo, “Él salvó a otros; ¡dejarle se salve a sí mismo, si él es el Cristo, el elegido de Dios!”. ^23:36Y los soldados también se burlaron de él: viniendo a él y ofreciéndole vinagre, ^23:37y diciendo, “Si tú eres el Rey de los judíos, salva a ti mismo”. ^23:38Y una inscripción también fue escrita encima él en letras griegas, latinas y hebreas, “ÉSTE ES EL REY DE LOS JUDÍOS”.

^23:39Y uno de los criminales, quien había sido ahorcado, le blasfemó, diciendo: “¡Si tú eres el Cristo, salva a ti mismo y a nosotros!”. ^23:40Pero la otra le reprendió, diciendo, “¿No temes a Dios, viendo que estás en la misma condenación? ^23:41Y nosotros con razón, porque recibimos lo que merecieron nuestros hechos; pero este hombre no ha hecho nada mal”. ^23:42Y dijo a Jesús: “¡Acuérdate de mí, Señor, cuando vengas en tu Reino!”. Y Jesús le dijo: “En verdad te digo, que hoy estarás conmigo en el paraíso”.

^23:44Y era alrededor de la sexta hora, y hubo oscuridad sobre toda la tierra hasta la hora novena. ^23:45Y el sol se oscureció y el velo del Templo se rasgó en el medio. ^23:46Entonces Jesús, clamando a gran voz, dijo, “¡Padre, en a tus manos, encomiendo mi espíritu!”. Y habiendo dicho esto, liberó el espíritu. ^23:47Ahora cuando el centurión vio lo que se hizo, glorificó a Dios, diciendo, “¡Ciertamente, este era un hombre justo!”. ^23:48Y toda la multitud quien se reunió a este espectáculo, contemplando las cosas que se hicieron, se golpearon los senos y regresaron. ^23:49Y todos sus conocidos, y las mujeres que lo seguían desde Galilea, estaban parados muy lejos, contemplando estas cosas.

^23:50Y, he aquí, había un varón llamado José, un consejero: quien era un hombre justo y bueno ^23:51(el mismo no había consentido con el consejo ni con los hechos de ellos); él era de Arimatea, un ciudad de los judíos, quien también, él mismo, esperaba el Reino de Dios. ^23:52Éste hombre fue a Pilato, y le pidió el cuerpo de Jesús. ^23:53Y lo bajó y lo envolvió en lino; y la colocó en una tumba que fue cortada en piedra, donde nadie había sido puesto antes. ^23:54Y ese día fue la preparación, y el sábado se acercaba. ^23:55Y las mujeres también, quien vinieron con él desde Galilea, lo siguieron y vieron la tumba y cómo fue tendido su cuerpo. ^23:56Y volvieron, y prepararon especias y ungüentos, y descansaron el día de reposo según el Mandamiento.

¶Único   Los apóstoles no creyeron el informe de las mujeres que Jesús había resucitado desde los muertos (24:1 - 12)

^24:1Ahora, sobre el primer día de la semana, muy temprano en la mañana, llegaron a la tumba, trayendo las especias que habían preparado, y algunos otros con ellos. ^24:2Y encontraron la piedra rodada lejos de la tumba; ^24:3y entraron en, pero no encontraron el cuerpo del Señor Jesús.

^24:4Y aconteció, mientras estaban muy perplejos sobre esto, he aquí, dos hombres se pararon junto a ellos con ropas brillantes; ^24:5y como tenían miedo e inclinaban sus rostros a la tierra, les dijeron, “¿Por qué buscáis a los vivos entre los muertos? ^24:6Él no está aquí, pero ha resucitado. Recordad cómo os habló cuando él todavía estaba en Galilea, ^24:7diciendo, ‘El Hijo del hombre debe ser entregado en manos de hombres pecadores, y ser crucificado, y al tercer día, ser resucitado’”.

^24:8Y ellas recordaron sus palabras; ^24:9y volvieron desde la tumba y contaron todas estas cosas a los once y a todos los demás. ^24:10Fue María Magdalena, y Juana, y María la madre de Jacobo, y otras mujeres que estaban con ellas, quienes dijeron estas cosas a los Apóstoles.

^24:11Pero sus palabras les parecían como cuentos ociosos, y no les creyeron.

^24:12Entonces Pedro se levantó, y corrió hacia la tumba; y agachándose, vio la ropa de lino puesta por ellos mismos; y él se fue, preguntándose en sí mismo de lo que había sucedido.

¶El complemento   Jesús abrió los ojos de dos discípulos para verle en el camino a Emaús (24:13 - 32)

^24:13Y, he aquí, el mismo día dos de ellos iban a una aldea llamada Emaús, cual estaba a unos sesenta estadios de Jerusalén. ^24:14Y hablaron juntos de todas estas cosas que habían sucedido. ^24:15Y sucedió que mientras se comunicaron juntos y razonaron, Jesús mismo se acercó y fue con ellos. ^24:16Pero los ojos de ellos estaban siendo retenidos, para que no le conociesen. ^24:17Y les dijo, “¿Qué estáis discutiendo con cada otro, mientras camináis y estáis tristes?”. ^24:18Y uno de ellos, quien se llamaba Cleofas, respondiendo, le dijo, “¿Eres solo un extraño en Jerusalén y no has sabido las cosas que han sucedido allí en estos días?”. ^24:19Y les dijo, “¿Qué cosas?”. Y le dijeron, “con referencia a Jesús de Nazaret, quien fue un profeta poderoso en obras y palabras ante Dios y todo el pueblo; ^24:20y cómo los principales sacerdotes y nuestros gobernantes le entregaron ser condenado a muerte, y ellos le han crucificado. ^24:21Pero confiábamos en que era él quien debería haber redimido a Israel; y además de todo esto, hoy es el tercer día desde que se hicieron estas cosas. ^24:22Además, y algunas mujeres también de nuestra compañía nos dejaron atónitos, cual fueron temprano en la tumba; ^24:23y cuando no encontraron su cuerpo, vinieron y dijeron que también habían visto una visión de los ángeles, que decían que estaba vivo. ^24:24Y algunos de los que estaban con nosotros fueron a la tumba, y la encontraron aún como habían dicho las mujeres; pero ellos no le vieron”.

^24:25Entonces él les dijo, “¡Oh tontos, y lentos de corazón para creer todo lo que los Profetas han dicho! ^24:26¿No debería Cristo haber sufrido estas cosas y entrar en su gloria?”. ^24:27Y comenzando por Moisés y todos los Profetas, él les explicó en todas las Escrituras las cosas acerca de sí mismo.

^24:28Y se acercaron al pueblo, adonde iban; y él hizo como si él habría ido más lejos. ^24:29Pero ellos le constriñeron, diciendo, “Quédate con nosotros: porque se hace tarde, y el día ya ha declinado”. Y entró para quedarse con ellos.

^24:30Y sucedió, mientras él se reclinaba en la mesa con ellos, tomando el pan, dio gracias y lo rompió, y les dio. ^24:31Y se les abrieron los ojos y le conocieron; y él desapareció de la vista de ellos.

^24:32Y se decían el uno al otro, “¿No ardió nuestro corazón dentro de nosotros, mientras él hablaba con nosotros en el camino, y mientras él abrió las Escrituras a nosotros?”.

¶El complemento   Jesús abrió el entendimiento de los Apóstoles para entender las Escrituras concernientes a Él (24:33 - 53)

^24:33Y levantándose en la misma hora, se regresaron a Jerusalén; y hallaron a los once reunidos, y a los quien estaban con ellos, ^24:34diciendo, “El Señor ha resucitado de hecho, y se le ha aparecido a Simón”. ^24:35Y contaron qué cosas habían pasado en el camino, y cómo él era conocido de ellos al partir el pan.

^24:36Y mientras hablaban estas cosas, Jesús mismo se puso en medio de ellos, y les dijo, “Paz a ustedes”. ^24:37Pero estaban asustados y alarmados, y suponían que habían visto un espíritu. ^24:38Y él les dijo, “¿Por qué estáis turbados? ¿Y por qué surgen pensamientos en vuestros corazones? ^24:39Mirad mis manos y mis pies, que ello es yo mismo; tocadme y ved: porque un espíritu no tiene carne ni huesos, como veis que yo tengo”. ^24:40Y habiendo dicho esto, les mostró las manos y los pies. ^24:41Y mientras todavía ellos, de gozo, no lo creían, y estaban maravillados, les dijo, “Do you have here any food?”. ^24:42Y le presentaron parte de un pez asado, y un panal de miel. ^24:43Y él lo tomó y comió delante de ellos.

^24:44Y les dijo, “Éstas son las palabras que os hablé, mientras yo estaba todavía con vosotros; que todas las cosas deben cumplirse, cual están escritas de mí en la Ley de Moisés, los Profetas, y los Salmos”.

^24:45Entonces les abrió el entendimiento, para que comprendiesen las Escrituras; ^24:46y les dijo, “Así ha sido escrito; y así fue necesario que el Cristo sufriera y resucitara de entre los muertos al tercer día; ^24:47para que el arrepentimiento y el perdón de los pecados se prediquen en su nombre entre todas las naciones, comenzando en Jerusalén. ^24:48Y ustedes sois testigos de estas cosas. ^24:49Y, he aquí, yo enviaré la promesa de mi Padre sobre ustedes; pero quedad en la ciudad de Jerusalén hasta que habéis sido ungidos con poder de lo alto”.

^24:50Y él les llevó tan lejos como a Betania; y alzando sus manos, y los bendijo. ^24:51Y aconteció, mientras los bendecía, fue separado de ellos y fue llevado arriba al Cielo. ^24:52Y le adoraron; y regresaron a Jerusalén con gran alegría; ^24:53y estaban continuamente en el Templo, alabando y bendiciendo a Dios.
