Mark, Chapter 1.2: Satan began stirring up opposition to the ministry of Jesus (2:13 - 3:35)

Introduction: The ministry of Jesus included teaching great multitudes of people; and calling individual sinners to repentance (2:13 - 17)

^2:16And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with tax collectors and sinners, they said to his disciples, “Why is it that he eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?”

^2:17When Jesus heard it, he says to them, “They that are whole have no need of the doctor;

“but they that are sick.

“I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

^2:21“No man also sews a piece of new cloth on an old garment; otherwise the new piece that filled it up takes away from the old, and the tear is made worse.

^2:22“And no man puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the new wine bursts the wineskins; and the wine is spilled, and the wineskins will be torn; but new wine must be put into new wineskins.”

and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of grain.

^2:25And he said to them, “Have you never read what David did, when he had need and was hungry, he, and they that were with him? ^2:26How he went into the House of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the showbread; which is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?”

^2:27And he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man’s benefit; and not man for the Sabbath. ^2:28Therefore the Son of man is also Lord of the Sabbath.”

^3:1And he entered again into the synagogue; and a man was there which had a withered hand; ^3:2and they watched him, to see whether he would heal him on the Sabbath day, that they might accuse him.

^3:5And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he says to the man, “Stretch forth your hand.” And he stretched it out; and his hand was restored whole as the other.

^3:6And the Pharisees went forth;

and immediately they took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

^3:7But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea. ^3:9And he spoke to his disciples that a small boat should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should crush him.

^3:10For he had healed many, insomuch that they pressed upon him to touch him, as many as had plagues.

^3:11And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him; and they cried, saying, “You are the Son of God!”

^3:12And he strictly charged them that they should not make him known.

^3:27“No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and plunder his goods; unless he first binds the strong man, and then he will plunder his house.

^3:28“Truly I say to you, that all sins shall be forgiven to the sons of men, and blasphemies as much as they shall blaspheme; ^3:29but he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to Eternal Damnation.” ^3:30Because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.”

and, standing outside, they sent to him, calling him.

^3:27“Nadie puede entrar en la casa del hombre fuerte y saquear sus bienes; a menos que primero él ata al hombre fuerte, y luego él saqueará su casa.

^3:28“Verdaderamente os digo, que todos los pecados serán perdonados a los hijos de los hombres, y las blasfemias cualesquiera con que blasfemaren; ^3:29pero cualquiera que blasfemare contra el Espíritu Santo, no tiene jamás perdón, sino que está en peligro de Condenación Eterna”. ^3:30Porque decían, “Tiene espíritu inmundo”.
