“But go your way; show yourself to the priest and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.”

^8:5And when Jesus entered into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, begging him, ^8:6and saying, “Lord, my servant lies at home paralyzed, grievously tormented.” ^8:7And Jesus says to him, “I will come and heal him.”

^8:8The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof; but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed: ^8:9for I am also a man under authority, having soldiers under me; and I say to this man, ‘Go’, and he goes; and to another, ‘Come’, and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this’, and he does it.”

^8:10When Jesus heard this, he marveled; and he said to them that followed, “Truly I say to you, I have not found such great faith; no, not even in Israel.

^8:11“And I say to you, that many shall come from the east and west; and they shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the Kingdom of Heaven. ^8:12But the children of the Kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

^8:13And Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so be it done to you.” And his servant was healed in the very same hour.

^8:18Now when Jesus saw great multitudes around him, he gave command to go to the other side of the sea. ^8:19And a certain scribe came, and said to him, “Master, I will follow you wheresoever you go.” ^8:20And Jesus says to him, “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man has no place to lay his head.”

^8:21And another of his disciples said to him, “Lord, allow me first to go, and bury my father.” ^8:22But Jesus said to him, “Follow me; and let the spiritually dead bury their dead.”

^8:23And when he went into the boat, his disciples followed him.

^8:24And, behold, a great tempest arose in the sea, insomuch that the boat was covered with the waves; but he was asleep.

^8:25And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, “Lord, save us; we are perishing!”

Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

^8:27But the men marveled, saying, “What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?!”

^8:28And when he came to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, two men controlled by demons met him, coming out of the tombs: exceedingly fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. ^8:29And, behold, they cried out, saying, “What have we to do with you, Jesus, you Son of God?! Have you come here to torment us before the Time?!”

^8:30And there was a good way off from them a herd of many swine feeding. ^8:31So the demons begged him, saying, “If you cast us out, allow us to go away into the herd of swine.” ^8:32And he said to them, “Go.”

And when they came out of the men, they went into the herd of swine; and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.

^8:33And they that kept them fled; and they went their ways into the city, and told everything, and what happened to the men controlled by the demons.

^8:34And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus; and when they saw him, they begged him that he might leave their area; ^9:1and he entered into a boat; and passed over, and came into his own city.

^9:2And, behold, they brought a paralyzed man to him, lying on a bed. And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralyzed man, “Son, be of good cheer! Your sins have been forgiven you.”

^9:3And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, “This man is blaspheming.” ^9:4And Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts? ^9:5For which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins have been forgiven you’; or to say, ‘Arise, and walk’?

^9:6“But that you may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins: (then he says to the paralyzed man) arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” ^9:7And he arose, and went to his house.

^9:8But when the multitudes saw this, they marveled.

And they glorified God, who had given such power to men.

^9:9And as Jesus passed forth from there, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the tax office; and he says to him, “Follow me.” And he arose, and followed him.

^9:10And it came to pass, as Jesus reclined to eat in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came, and sat down with him and his disciples. ^9:11And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples, “Why does your Master eat with tax collectors and sinners?” ^9:12But when Jesus heard it, he said to them, “They that are whole do not need a doctor, but they that are sick. ^9:13But go and learn what this Scripture means: ‘I want mercy, and not sacrifice’: for I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

^9:14Then the disciples of John came to him, saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast often; but your disciples do not fast?” ^9:15And Jesus said to them, “Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them; and then shall they fast.

^9:16“No man puts a piece of new cloth into an old garment: for that which is put in to fill it up takes from the garment; and the tear is made worse.

^9:17“Neither do men put new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wineskins break, and the wine runs out, and the wineskins perish; but they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”

^9:23And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the minstrels and the people making noise, ^9:24he said to them, “Make room: for the girl is not dead, but sleeps.”

And they laughed him to scorn.

^9:25But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand; and the girl arose. ^9:26And the fame of this went abroad into all that land.

^9:27And when Jesus left there, two blind men followed him, crying and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” ^9:28And when he came into the house, the blind men came to him; and Jesus says to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.” ^9:29Then he touched their eyes; saying, “According to your faith be it unto you.” ^9:30And their eyes were opened.

And Jesus strictly commanded them, saying, “See that no man knows it.” ^9:31But they, when they left, spread abroad his fame in all that country.

^9:32As they went out, behold, they brought him a mute man, controlled by a demon.

^9:33And when the demon was cast out, the mute spoke.

And the multitudes marveled, saying, “It was never so seen in Israel!” ^9:34But the Pharisees said, “He casts out demons through the prince of the demons.”

^8:10Y oyéndolo Jesús, se maravilló, y dijo a los que le seguían, “Verdaderamente os digo, que ni aun en Israel he hallado tanta fe.

^8:11“Y os digo que vendrán muchos del oriente y del occidente, y se sentarán con Abraham e Isaac y Jacob en el Reino del Cielo. ^8:12Pero los hijos del reino serán echados a las tinieblas de afuera; allí será el lloro y el crujir de dientes”.

Y cuando salieron de los hombres, se fueron a aquel hato de puercos; y he aquí, todo el hato de puercos se precipitó en el mar por un despeñadero, y perecieron en las aguas.

^8:33Y los que los apacentaban huyeron; y viniendo a la ciudad, contaron todas las cosas, y lo que había acontecido con los endemoniados.

^9:14Entonces vinieron a él los discípulos de Juan, diciendo, “¿Por qué nosotros y los fariseos ayunamos muchas veces, y tus discípulos no ayunan?”. ^9:15Y Jesús les dijo, “¿Pueden, los que están de bodas tener luto entre tanto que el esposo está con ellos? Pero los días vendrán, cuando el esposo les será quitado, y entonces ayunarán.

^9:16“Nadie pone remiendo de paño nuevo en vestido viejo: porque tal remiendo tira del vestido, y se hace peor la rotura.

^9:17“Tampoco echan vino nuevo en odres viejos; de otra manera los odres se rompen, y el vino se derrama, y los odres se pierden; pero echan el vino nuevo en odres nuevos, y ambos se conservan”.

^9:20Y he aquí una mujer que estaba enferma de flujo de sangre por ya doce años, se le acercó por detrás y tocó el borde de su manto: ^9:21porque decía dentro de sí, “Si tan sólo tocare su manto, seré sana”. ^9:22Pero Jesús, volviéndose, y mirándola, dijo, “Hija, ten ánimo, tu fe te ha salvado”. Y la mujer fue sana desde aquella hora.

^9:23Y cuando Jesús llegó a casa del principal, y vio los tañedores de flautas, y la gente que hacía bullicio, ^9:24les dijo, “Apartaos, que la muchacha no está muerta, sino duerme”.

Y se reían de él con desprecio.

^9:25Pero cuando hubieron echado fuera a la gente, entró, y la tomó de la mano, y la muchacha se levantó. ^9:26Y la fama de esto salió por toda aquella tierra.

¶El complemento   Jesús curó a los ciegos y los mudos (9:27 - 34)

^9:27Y partiendo Jesús de allí, le siguieron dos ciegos, dando voces y diciendo, “¡Hijo de David, ten misericordia de nosotros!”. ^9:28Y llegado a casa, los ciegos vinieron a él; y Jesús les dijo, “¿Creéis que puedo hacer esto?”. Le dijeron, “Sí, Señor”. ^9:29Entonces les tocó los ojos, diciendo, “Conforme a vuestra fe os sea hecho”. ^9:30Y los ojos de ellos fueron abiertos.

Y Jesús les encargó rigurosamente, diciendo, “Mirad que nadie lo sepa”. ^9:31Pero cuando salieron, divulgaron su fama por toda aquella tierra.

^9:32Y al salir ellos, he aquí, le trajeron a un hombre mudo, endemoniado.

^9:33Y echado fuera el demonio, el mudo habló.

Y las multitudes se maravillaban, y decían, “¡Jamás se había visto cosa semejante en Israel!”. ^9:34Pero los fariseos decían, “Por el príncipe de los demonios echa fuera los demonios”.
