^16:15He says to them, “But whom do you say that I am?” ^16:16And Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

^16:17And Jesus answered and said to him, “You are blessed, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father, who is in Heaven.”

^16:18“And also I say to you, that you are a small pebble; but upon this bedrock will I build my Assembly; and the gates of Hell shall not withstand it. ^16:19And I will give to you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven; and whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven; and whatsoever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven.”

^16:20Then he commanded his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.

^16:21From that time forward Jesus began to show to his disciples, how that he must go to Jerusalem; and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed; and be raised again the third day.

^16:22Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, “Be it far from you, Lord; this shall not be unto you.” ^16:23But he turned, and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are an offense to me: for you do not set your mind on the things of God, but the things of men.”

^16:24Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any will come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me: ^16:25for whosoever will save his life shall lose it; and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. ^16:26For what is a man benefited, if he shall gain the whole world, but lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

^16:27“For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then shall he reward every man according to his works.

^16:28“Truly I say to you, that there are some standing here, who shall not taste of death, until they see the Son of man coming in his Kingdom.”

^17:1And after six days Jesus takes Peter, James, and John his brother, and brings them up into a high mountain apart. ^17:2And he was transfigured before them; and his face shone as the sun, and his clothing was white as the light.

^17:3And, behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah talking with him. ^17:4Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

^17:5While he still spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear him!”

^17:6And when the disciples heard this, they fell on their face, and were very afraid.

^17:7And Jesus came and touched them, and said, “Arise, and be not afraid.” ^17:8And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, except Jesus only.

¶Opposite   The disciple must have a very distant relationship with Satan and his demons (17:9 - 23)

^17:9And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man has risen again from the dead.”

^17:10And his disciples asked him, saying, “Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?” ^17:11And Jesus answered and said to them, “Elijah truly shall come first, and restore all things. ^17:12But I say to you, that Elijah has come already, and they did not know him, but have done to him whatsoever they wished. Likewise also shall the Son of man suffer of them.” ^17:13Then the disciples understood that he spoke to them of John the Baptist.

^17:14And when they came to the multitude, a certain man came to him, kneeling down to him, and saying, ^17:15“Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is crazy, and very sick: for oftentimes he falls into the fire, and often into the water. ^17:16And I brought him to your disciples, but they could not cure him.” ^17:17Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you?

Bring him here to me.” ^17:18And Jesus rebuked the demon; and he went out of him. And the child was cured from that very hour.

^17:19Then the disciples came to Jesus apart, and said, “Why could we not cast him out?” ^17:20And Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief: for truly I say to you, that if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, ‘Move from this place to that place’; and it shall move, and nothing shall be impossible to you. ^17:21Nevertheless this kind does not go out, except by prayer and fasting.”

¶Complement   The disciple must have a respectful relationship with earthly authorities (17:24 - 27)

^17:22And while they stayed in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men; ^17:23and they shall kill him; and the third day he shall be raised again.” And they were very sorry.

^17:24And when they came to Capernaum, they that received tax money came to Peter, and said, “Does your master not pay Temple tax?” ^17:25He says, “Yes.”

And when he came into the house, Jesus forestalled him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? Of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or taxes? Of their own children, or of strangers?” ^17:26Peter says to him, “Of strangers.” Jesus says to him, “Then the children of God are free.”

^17:27Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go to the sea; and cast a hook; and take up the fish that first comes up. And when you have opened his mouth, you shall find a stater coin.

Take that, and give it to them for both you and me.”

¶Complement   The disciple must have a forgiving relationship with other Believers (18:1 - 35)

^18:1At the same time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?” ^18:2And Jesus called a little child to him, and set him in their midst, ^18:3and said, “Truly I say to you, that unless you are converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. ^18:4Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. ^18:5And whoso shall receive one such little child in my Name receives me.

^18:6“But whoso shall cause one of these little ones who believes in me to sin, it is better for him that a large millstone was hung around his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. ^18:7Woe to the world because of offences! For it is necessary that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence comes! ^18:8Therefore if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut them off, and cast them from you; it is better for you to enter into Eternal Life crippled or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into Everlasting Fire. ^18:9And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out, and cast it from you; it is better for you to enter into Life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into Hellfire. ^18:10Be careful that you do not despise one of these little ones: for I say to you, that in Heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father, who is in Heaven: ^18:11for the Son of man has come to save that which was lost.

^18:12“What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine, and go into the mountains, and seek that one which has gone astray? ^18:13And if it comes to pass that he finds it, truly I say to you, that he rejoices more of that one sheep, than of the ninety-nine which went not astray. ^18:14Even so it is not the will of your Father, who is in Heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.”

^18:15“Moreover if your brother shall trespass against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he will hear you, then you have gained your brother. ^18:16But if he will not hear you, then take with you one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. ^18:17And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the Assembly. But if he refuses to hear the Assembly, let him be to you as a heathen man and a tax collector. ^18:18Truly I say to you, whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven; and whatsoever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven. ^18:19Again I say to you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them by my Father, who is in Heaven. ^18:20For where two or three are gathered together in my Name, there am I in their midst.”

^18:21Then Peter came to him, and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Until seven times?” ^18:22Jesus says to him, “I say not unto you, until seven times; but until seventy times seven. ^18:23Therefore the Kingdom of Heaven is likened to a certain king, who would take account of his servants. ^18:24And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought to him, who owed him ten thousand talents. ^18:25But forasmuch as he was not able to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and also his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. ^18:26Therefore the servant fell down, and worshipped him, saying, ‘Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay you everything.’ ^18:27Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion; and released him, and forgave him the debt. ^18:28But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellow-servants, who owed him one hundred denarii; and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, ‘Pay me what you owe!’ ^18:29And his fellow-servant fell down at his feet, and begged him, saying, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you everything.’ ^18:30And he would not, but went and cast him into debtor’s prison, until he should pay the debt. ^18:31So when his fellow-servants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told their lord all that was done. ^18:32Then his lord, after he had called him, said to him, ‘O you wicked servant, I forgave you all that debt, because you asked me. ^18:33Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow-servant, even as I had pity on you?’ ^18:34And his lord was angry, and delivered him to the tormentors, until he should pay all that was due to him. ^18:35So likewise shall my Heavenly Father do also to you, if you from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.”

^19:1And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he left Galilee, and came into the territory of Judea beyond Jordan.

^19:2And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.

^19:3The Pharisees also came to him, tempting him; and saying to him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any accusation?” ^19:4And he answered and said to them, “Have you not read, that he who made them at the beginning made them male and female? ^19:5And he said, ‘For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife; and they two shall be one flesh.’ Therefore they are no longer two, but one flesh. ^19:6Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate.”

^19:7They say to him, “Then why did Moses command to give a writing of divorce, and to put her away?” ^19:8He says to them, “Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, allowed you to divorce your wives; but from the beginning it was not so. ^19:9And I say to you, whosoever shall divorce his wife, unless it is for fornication, and shall marry another, commits adultery; and whoso marries her which is divorced commits adultery.”

^19:10His disciples say to him, “If the case of the man is so with his wife, it is not good to marry.” ^19:11But he said to them, “All men cannot receive this saying, except they to whom it is given: ^19:12for there are some eunuchs, who were born this way from their mother’s womb; and there are some eunuchs, who were made eunuchs by men; and there are eunuchs, who have made themselves eunuchs for the Kingdom of Heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.”

What do I lack yet?” ^19:21Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be complete, then go, sell what you have, and give to the poor; and you shall have treasure in Heaven; and come, follow me.” ^19:22But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

^19:23Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I say to you, that it is hard for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. ^19:24And again I say to you, that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God.”

^19:25When his disciples heard this, they were greatly astounded, saying, “Who then can be saved?” ^19:26But Jesus beheld them, and said to them, “With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”

^19:27Then Peter answered and said to him, “Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed you. Therefore what shall we have?” ^19:28And Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you, that you who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. ^19:29And every one that has forsaken houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my Name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit Everlasting Life. ^19:30But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first: ^20:1for the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man that is a landowner, which went out early in the morning to hire laborers into his vineyard. ^20:2And when he had agreed with the laborers for one denarius coin per day, he sent them into his vineyard. ^20:3And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, ^20:4and said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you.’ And they went their way. ^20:5Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. ^20:6And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and says to them, ‘Why do you stand here idle all day?’ ^20:7They say to him, ‘Because no man has hired us.’ He says to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall you receive.’ ^20:8So when evening came, the lord of the vineyard says to his steward, ‘Call the laborers, and give them their pay, beginning from the last to the first.’ ^20:9And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a denarius. ^20:10But when the first came, they supposed that they would have received more; and they likewise received every man a denarius. ^20:11And when they had received it, they murmured against the master of the house, ^20:12saying, ‘These last have worked but one hour, and you have made them equal to us, who have borne the burden and heat of the day.’ ^20:13But he answered one of them, and said, ‘Friend, I do you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius? ^20:14Take what is yours, and go your way. I will give to the last one, even as to you. ^20:15Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own? Is your eye evil, because I am good?’ ^20:16So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many are called, but few are chosen.”

^20:20Then the mother of Zebedee’s children came to him with her sons, worshipping him, and asking something from him. ^20:21And he said to her, “What do you want?” She says to him, “Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on your right hand, and the other on the left, in your Kingdom.”

^20:22But Jesus answered and said, “You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be immersed in the baptism that I am immersed in?” They say to him, “We are able.” ^20:23And he says to them, “You shall indeed drink of my cup, and be immersed in the baptism that I am immersed in; but to sit on my right hand and on my left is not mine to give, but only for whom it is prepared by my Father.”

^20:24And when the ten heard this, they were moved with indignation against the two brothers. ^20:25But Jesus called them to himself, and said, “You know that the princes of the Gentiles lord it over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. ^20:26But it shall not be this way among you; but whosoever wishes to have great authority among you must be your servant; ^20:27and whosoever wishes to be first among you must be your bondslave. ^20:28Even as the Son of man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.”

^17:14Y cuando llegaron a la multitud, vino a él un hombre, y cayendo de rodillas delante de él, dijo, ^17:15“Señor, ten misericordia de mi hijo, que es lunático, y padece mucho: porque muchas veces cae en el fuego, y muchas en el agua. ^17:16Y le traje a tus discípulos, y no le pudieron sanar”. ^17:17Entonces respondiendo Jesús, dijo, “¡Oh generación incrédula y perversa! ¿Hasta cuándo he de estar con ustedes? ¿Hasta cuándo os he de soportar?

Traédmele acá”. ^17:18Y reprendió Jesús al demonio, el cual salió del muchacho, y éste quedó sano desde aquella hora.

^17:19Entonces viniendo los discípulos a Jesús, aparte, dijeron, “¿Por qué nosotros no pudimos echarlo fuera?”. ^17:20Y Jesús les dijo, “Por vuestra incredulidad: porque verdaderamente os digo, que si tuviereis fe como un grano de mostaza, diréis a este monte, ‘Pásate de aquí allá’; y se pasará, y nada os será imposible. ^17:21Pero este género no sale sino por oración y ayuno”.

¶El complemento   El discípulo debe tener una relación respetuosa con las autoridades terrenales (17:24 - 27)

^17:22Y estando ellos en Galilea, Jesús les dijo, “El Hijo del hombre será entregado en manos de hombres, ^17:23y le matarán; pero al tercer día resucitará”. Y ellos se entristecieron en gran manera.

^17:24Y cuando llegaron a Capernaúm, los que recibieron el impuesto de Temple vinieron a Pedro, diciendo, “¿Su maestro no paga el impuesto del templo?”. ^17:25Él dijo, “Sí”.

Y cuando entró en la casa, Jesús le anticipó, diciendo, “¿Qué piensas, Simon? ¿De quiénes los reyes de la tierra toman costumbres o impuestos? De sus propios hijos, o de extraños?”. ^17:26Pedro le dice, “De extraños”. Jesús le dice, “Entonces los hijos de Dios son libres”.

^17:27“No obstante, para que no los ofendamos, ve al mar; y echar un gancho; y tomar el pescado que primero sube. Y cuando hayas abierto su boca, encontrarás una moneda de estator.

“Tómalo, y dáselo a ellos para mí y para ti”.

¶El complemento   El discípulo debe tener una relación del perdón con otros creyentes (18:1 - 35)

^18:1Al mismo tiempo, vinieron los discípulos a Jesús, diciendo, “¿Quién es el mayor en el Reino del Cielo?”. ^18:2Y Jesús le llamó a un niño, y lo puso en medio de ellos, ^18:3y dijo, “Verdaderamente os digo, que a menos estás convertido y vuelves como niños, no entraréis en el Reino de los Cielos. ^18:4Por tanto, quienquiera se humille él mismo como a este niño, lo mismo es el mayor en el Reino de los Cielos. ^18:5Y quienquiera recibirá a un niño como éste en mi nombre, me recibe.

^18:6“Pero quienquiera causará pecar a uno de estos pequeños que cree en mí, sería mejor para él que una gran piedra de molino estaba colgaba alrededor de su cuello, y que fue ahogado en la profundidad del mar. ^18:7¡Ay del mundo debido a las ofensas! Porque es necesario que vienen las ofensas; pero ¡ay de aquel hombre por quien viene la ofensa! ^18:8Por lo tanto, si tu mano o tu pie te hace pecar, córtalos de y échalos de ti; mejor te es entrar cojo o manco en la Vida, que teniendo dos manos o dos pies ser echado en el Fuego Eterno. ^18:9Y si tu ojo te hace pecar, desplumarlo fuera y échalo lejos de ti: es mejor para ti entrar en la Vida Eterna con uno ojo, en lugar de teniendo dos ojos para ser lanzado en el fuego del infierno. ^18:10Tener cuidado no despreciar a uno de estos pequeños: porque les digo que en el Cielo sus ángeles siempre contemplan el rostro de mi Padre quien está en el Cielo: ^18:11porque el Hijo del hombre ha venido para salvar lo que se había perdido.

^18:12“¿Qué os parece? Si un hombre tiene cien ovejas, y se descarría una de ellas, ¿no deja las noventa y nueve y va por los montes a buscar la que se había descarriado? ^18:13Y si sucede que lo halla, verdaderamente os digo, que él se regocija más de esa uno oveja, que de los noventa y nueve que no se extraviaron. ^18:14Aun así, no es la voluntad de vuestro Padre, quien está en el Cielo, que uno de estos pequeños debe perecer”.

^18:15“Además, si tu hermano ha pecado contra ti, ve y dile su culpa entre tú y él solo; si él te escuchará, has ganado a tu hermano. ^18:16Pero si él no te escuchará, entonces lleva contigo una o dos más, para que en la boca de dos o tres testigos cada palabra pueda ser establecida. ^18:17Y si él se niega a escucharlos, dilo a la Asamblea; pero si él se niega a escuchar a la Asamblea, déjale ser para ti como un pagano y un recaudador de impuestos. ^18:18Verdaderamente os digo: todo lo que atéis en la tierra, será atado en el Cielo; y todo lo que desatéis en la tierra, será desatado en el Cielo. ^18:19De nuevo os digo, que si dos de ustedes se ponen de acuerdo en la tierra en cuanto a cualquier cosa que pidan, será hecho para ellos por mi Padre, cual está en el Cielo: ^18:20porque donde dos o tres están reunidos en mi Nombre, allí estoy yo en medio de ellos”.

^18:21Entonces Pedro se le acercó y dijo: “Señor, ¿cuántas veces pecará mi hermano contra mí, y yo le perdonaré? ¿Hasta siete veces?”. ^18:22Jesús le dice: “No te digo hasta siete veces; Pero hasta setenta veces siete. ^18:23Por lo tanto, el Reino de los Cielos es similar a un rey, que quería tomar en cuenta a sus siervos. ^18:24Y cuando comenzó a cuenta, uno fue traído a él quien le debía diez mil talentos. ^18:25Pero como no podía pagar, su señor le ordenó para ser vendido, y también su mujer, sus hijos, y todo lo que tenía, y el pago ser hecho. ^18:26Entonces el siervo se postró y lo adoró, diciendo: ‘Señor, ten paciencia conmigo, y yo te pagaré todo’. ^18:27Entonces el señor de aquel siervo se movió con compasión, y le liberó, y le perdonó la deuda. ^18:28Pero el mismo siervo salió, y encontró a uno de sus consiervos, quien le debía cien denarios; y puso manos sobre él, y le tomó por la garganta, diciendo: ‘¡Págame lo que debes!’ ^18:29Y su siervo se postró a sus pies, y le rogó, diciendo: “Ten paciencia conmigo, y yo te pagaré todo”. ^18:30Y él no lo haría, sino fue y lo echó en la prisión del deudor, hasta que pagaría la deuda. ^18:31Así que cuando sus consiervos vieron lo que había sucedido, estaban muy apenados, y vinieron y dijeron a su señor todo lo que se hizo. ^18:32Entonces su señor, después de haberle llamado, le dijo: “Oh, usted malvado siervo, te perdoné toda esa deuda, porque tú me preguntaste. ^18:33¿No debías tú también has tenido misericordia de tu consiervo, así como tuve piedad de ti?’ ^18:34Y su señor se enfadó, y lo entregó a los atormentadores, hasta que debiera pagar todo que era debido a él. ^18:35Así también mi Padre celestial hará a ustedes, si ustedes, de sus corazones, no perdonan cada uno a su hermano sus ofensas”.

¶Único   El discípulo debe tener una relación de compromiso con su esposa (19:1 - 12)

^19:1Y sucedió, que cuando Jesús terminó estas palabras, salió de Galilea, y llegó al territorio de Judea más allá del Jordán.

^19:2Y mucha gente lo siguió; y allí los sanó.

^19:3Los fariseos también vinieron a él, tentándole; y diciéndole: “¿Es lícito al hombre divorciarse a su mujer para cualquier acusación?”. ^19:4Y él respondiendo y les dijo: “¿No habéis leído que el quien los hizo al principio los hizo varón y hembra? ^19:5Y él dijo: ‘Por esta causa un hombre dejará a su padre y su madre, y se unirá a su mujer; y ellos dos serán una sola carne’. ^19:6Por lo tanto, ellos no son dos, sino una sola carne. Por tanto, lo que Dios ha unido, dejar ningún hombre separe”.

^19:7Le dicen: “Entonces, ¿por qué mandó Moisés dar un escrito de divorcio y ponerla lejo?”. ^19:8Él les dijo, “Moisés, debido a la dureza de sus corazones, te permitió divorciarse de sus esposas; pero desde el principio no fue así. ^19:9Y os digo, que quienquiera que divorciará a su mujer (a menos que sea por fornicación), y se casará con otro, comete adulterio; y quienquiera que se casa con ella cual está divorciada comete adulterio”.

^19:10Sus discípulos le dicen, “Si el caso del hombre es así con su esposa, no es bueno casarse”. ^19:11Pero él les dijo: “Todos los hombres no pueden recibir este dicho, excepto aquellos a los quien es dado: ^19:12porque hay algunos eunucos quien nacieron de este modo desde el vientre de su madre; y hay algunos eunucos, cual fueron hechos eunucos por los hombres, y hay eunucos quien han hecho ellas mismas eunucos por causa del Reino del Cielo. El que es capaz de recibirlo, déjale lo reciba”.

§Único   Conclusión: Las recompensas en la vida de resurrección serán el resultado de nuestras relaciones aquí en la Tierra (19:13 - 20:28)

¶El complemento   Las recompensas serán dadas de acuerdo a la voluntad de Dios y no de acuerdo con nuestras expectativas (19:13 - 20:16)

^19:13Entonces niños se trajeron a él, que él debería poner sus manos sobre ellos, y orase; pero los discípulos les reprendieron. ^19:14Pero Jesús dijo, “Permitir los niños pequeños, y no les prohibas, para venir a mí: porque de los tales es el Reino del Cielo”. ^19:15Y él puso sus manos sobre ellos, y salió desde allí.

^19:16Y, he aquí, vino uno y le dijo, “Maestro bueno, ¿qué cosa buena debería hago, que yo tenga Vida Eterna?”. ^19:17Y él le dijo, “¿Por qué me llamas bien? Ninguno son bueno, excepto uno, es decir, Dios. Pero si quieres entrar en la Vida, guarda los Mandamientos”. ^19:18Él le dijo, “¿Cual?”. Y Jesús dijo, “‘No asesinar’; ‘No cometerás adulterio’; ‘No hurtarás’; ‘No dirás falso testimonio’; ^19:19‘Honra a tu padre y a tu madre’; y, ‘Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo’.” ^19:20El joven le dijo, “Todas estas cosas he observado desde mi juventud arriba. ¿Qué me falta todavía?”. ^19:21Jesús le dijo, “Si quieres ser completa, entonces ve, vende lo que tienes, y das a los pobres; y tendrás tesoro en el Cielo; y ven, sígueme”. ^19:22Pero cuando el joven oyó eso dicho, él se fue lejos triste: porque tenía grandes posesiones.

^19:23Entonces Jesús dijo a sus discípulos, “Verdaderamente os digo, que es difícil para un hombre rico entrar en el Reino del Cielo. ^19:24Y otra vez os digo: que es más fácil para un camello pasar por el ojo de una aguja, que por un hombre rico para entrar en el Reino de Dios”.

^19:25Cuando sus discípulos oyeron esto, estaban muy asombrados, diciendo: “¿Quién, entonces, puede ser salvado?”. ^19:26Pero Jesús los miró y les dijo: “Con los hombres, esto es imposible; pero con Dios todas las cosas son posibles”.

^19:27Entonces Pedro respondió y le dijo: “He aquí, nosotros lo hemos dejado todo, y te hemos seguido. Por lo tanto, ¿qué tendremos?”. ^19:28Y Jesús les dijo, “En verdad os digo, que ustedes cual me habéis seguido, en la regeneración, cuando el Hijo del hombre se sentará en el trono de su gloria, también sentarás sobre doce tronos, juzgando a las doce tribus de Israel. ^19:29Y todo aquel que haya dejado casas, o hermanos, o hermanas, o padre, o madre, o esposa, o hijos, o tierras, por el bien de mi nombre, recibirá centuplicado y heredará la Vida Eterna. ^19:30Pero muchos que son primeros serán los últimos; y el último será primero: ^20:1porque el Reino del Cielo es como un hombre, cual es un terrateniente, quien salió temprano por la mañana para contratar obreros en su viña. ^20:2Y cuando él estuvo de acuerdo con los obreros por una moneda de denario por día, los envió a su viña. ^20:3Y él salió acerca de la tercera hora, y vio a otros en pie inactivo en el mercado, ^20:4y les dijo, ‘Entrad también en la viña, y todo que es justo os daré’. Y fueron sus caminos. ^20:5De nuevo, él salió a acerca de la sexta y la novena hora, e hizo lo mismo. ^20:6Y acerca de la hora undécima, él salió, y halló a otros en pie inactivo; y les dijo: ‘¿Por qué estás aquí en pie inactivo todo el día?’ ^20:7Le dicen, ‘Porque nadie nos ha contratado’. Él les dijo, ‘Tú también vas en la viña; y todo que es justo os daré’. ^20:8Y cuando llegó la tarde, el señor de la viña dice a su capataz: “Llama a los obreros y dales su paga, desde el último hasta el primero”. ^20:9Y cuando vinieron, cual había sido contratado alrededor de la undécima hora, recibieron cada hombre un denario. ^20:10Pero cuando llegó el primero, supusieron que habrían recibido más; pero igualmente ellos recibieron cada hombre un denario. ^20:11Y cuando lo habían recibido, murmuraron contra el dueño de la casa, ^20:12diciendo, ‘Estos últimos han trabajado sólo una hora, y tú los has hecho iguales a nosotros, que han soportado la carga y el calor del día’. ^20:13Pero él contestó a uno de ellos, y dijo: ‘Amigo, no te hice daño. ¿No hiciste de acuerdo conmigo para un denario? ^20:14Toma el suyo, y ve su camino. Yo daré a la última, como a ti. ^20:15¿No es lícito para mí hacer lo que yo deseo con lo mío? ¿Es tu ojo malo, porque soy bueno?’ ^20:16Así que los últimos serán los primeros, y los primeros los últimos, porque muchos son llamados, pero pocos son escogidos”.

¶El complemento   Las mejores recompensas será dado a los que sufren para Cristo y servir a otros desinteresadamente (20:17 - 28)

^20:17Y Jesús, subiendo a Jerusalén, tomó a los doce discípulos aparte en el camino, y les dijo, ^20:18“He aquí, subimos a Jerusalén; y el Hijo del hombre será traicionado a los principales sacerdotes ya los escribas; y lo condenarán a muerte; ^20:19y le entregarán a los gentiles para burlarse, y azotar, y para crucificarle.

“Y en el tercer día resucitará”.

^20:20Entonces vino a él la madre de los hijos de Zebedeo con sus hijos; adorándo, y pidiendo algo desde él. ^20:21Y él dijo a ella, “¿Qué quieres?”. Ella le dijo, “Concede que estos dos mis hijos pueden sentarse, el uno a tu mano derecha, y el otro a tu izquierda, en tu Reino”.

^20:22Pero Jesús respondiendo y dijo, “No sabéis lo que pedís. ¿Podéis beber la copa que yo he de beber, y ser bautizados con el bautismo que soy bautizado con?”. Le dijeron, “Podemos”. ^20:23Y él les dijo, “De hecho beberéis de mi copa, y seréis bautizados con el bautismo que soy bautizado con; pero sentarse en mi mano derecha y mi izquierda no es mío dar, sino sólo para quién es preparado por mi Padre”.

^20:24Y cuando los diez oyeron esto, se conmovieron con indignación contra los dos hermanos. ^20:25Pero Jesús los llamó, y dijo, “Tú sabes que los príncipes de los gentiles ejercen dominio sobre ellos, y los que son grandes ejercen autoridad sobre ellos. ^20:26Pero no será esta manera entre ustedes; pero cualquiera que desee tener gran autoridad entre ustedes debe ser su siervo; ^20:27y el que quiera ser el primero entre ustedes, debe ser vuestro esclavo. ^20:28Incluso como el Hijo del hombre no vino para ser servido, sino para servir y dar su vida un rescate para muchos”.
