^21:12And Jesus went into the Temple of God; and he cast out all them that sold and bought in the Temple; and he overthrew the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of them that sold doves. ^21:13And he said to them, “It is written, ‘My House shall be called the House of prayer.’ But you have made it a den of thieves!”

^21:14And the blind and the lame came to him in the Temple, and he healed them. ^21:15And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the Temple, and saying, “Hosanna to the Son of David!”, they were indignant, ^21:16and said to him, “Do you hear what these say?” And Jesus says to them, “Indeed; have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of children and infants you have perfected praise’?”

^21:17And he departed from them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.

^21:22“And all things, whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.”

Out of Heaven, or out of men?”

And they reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we shall say, ‘Out of Heaven’, he will say to us, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’ ^21:26But if we shall say, ‘Out of men’, we fear the people: for all regard John as a Prophet.”

^21:27And they answered Jesus, and said, “We cannot tell.” And he said to them, “Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

^21:28“But what do you think? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, ‘Son, go work today in my vineyard.’ ^21:29He answered and said, ‘I will not’; but afterward he repented, and went. ^21:30And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, ‘I go, sir’; but went not. ^21:31Which of the two did the will of his father?” They say to him, “The first.”

Jesus says to them, “Truly I say to you, that the tax collectors and prostitutes go into the Kingdom of God before you: ^21:32for John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him; but the tax collectors and prostitutes believed him; and you, when you had seen this, did not repent afterward, that you might believe him.”

¶Complement   The tenant farmers (the chief priests and Pharisees) rebelled against the Lord of the Vineyard (21:33 - 22:14)

^21:33“Hear another parable: there was a certain man who was a landowner, who planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and dug a winepress in it, and built a tower, and leased it out to tenant farmers, and went into a far country. ^21:34And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the farmers, that they might receive its fruit. ^21:35And the farmers took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. ^21:36Again, he sent other servants more than the first; and they did to them likewise. ^21:37But last of all he sent to them his son, saying, ‘They will reverence my son.’ ^21:38But when the farmers saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.’ ^21:39And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. ^21:40Therefore when the lord of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those farmers?” ^21:41They say to him, “He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will lease out his vineyard to other farmers, who shall render him the fruits in their seasons.”

^21:42Jesus says to them, “Did you never read in the Scriptures, ‘The Stone which the builders rejected, the same has become the head of the corner. This is [Jehovah]’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes’? ^21:43Therefore I say to you, the Kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth its fruits. ^21:44And whosoever shall fall on this Stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.”

^21:45And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spoke of them. ^21:46But, though wanting to lay hands on him, they were afraid of the multitude, because they took him for a Prophet.

^22:1And Jesus answered and spoke to them again by parables, and said, ^22:2“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain King, who made a wedding feast for his Son. ^22:3And he sent forth his servants to call them that were invited to the wedding; but they would not come. ^22:4Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, ‘Tell them who are invited, ‘Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fattened calves are killed, and all things are ready; come to the wedding feast.’’ ^22:5But they made light of it, and went their ways: one to his farm, and another to his merchandise; ^22:6and the rest took his servants, and treated them spitefully, and slew them. ^22:7But when the King heard this, he was furious, and sent forth his armies and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

^22:8“Then he says to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but they who were invited were not worthy; ^22:9therefore go into the highways; and as many as you shall find, invite to the marriage.’ ^22:10So those servants went out into the highways; and they gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good; and the wedding was furnished with guests. ^22:11And when the King came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who did not have on a wedding garment; ^22:12and he says to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here not having a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. ^22:13Then the King said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot; and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. ^22:14For many are called, but few are chosen.’”

^22:15Then the Pharisees went, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk; ^22:16and they sent out to him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, “Master, we know that you are true, and teach the way of God in truth; neither do you care for any man: for you do not regard the person of men. ^22:17Therefore tell us: what do you think? Is it lawful to pay tax to Caesar, or not?”

^22:18But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, “Why do you tempt me, you hypocrites? ^22:19Show me the tax money.” And they brought to him a denarius coin. ^22:20And he says to them, “Whose is this image and inscription?” ^22:21They say to him, “Caesar’s.”

Then he says to them, “Therefore render to Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” ^22:22When they had heard these words, they marveled, and left him, and went their way.

^22:23The same day the Sadducees came to him, who say that there is no resurrection; and they asked him, ^22:24saying, “Master, Moses said, ‘If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.’ ^22:25Now seven brothers were with us; and the first, having married a wife, died; and having no seed, he left his wife to his brother; ^22:26likewise the second also, and the third, to the seventh. ^22:27And last of all the woman died also. ^22:28Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? For they all had her.” ^22:29Jesus answered and said to them, “You go astray, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God: ^22:30for in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in Heaven.

^22:31“But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have you not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying, ^22:32‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.” ^22:33And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.

^22:34But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.

^22:35Then one of them, who was a lawyer, asked him, testing him, and saying, ^22:36“Master, which is the great Commandment in the Law?” ^22:37Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love [Jehovah] your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind’ ^22:38; this is the first and great Commandment. ^22:39And the second is similar, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ ^22:40All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two Commandments.”

^22:41While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, ^22:42saying, “What do you think of Christ? Whose son is he?” They say to him, “The Son of David.”

^22:43He says to them, “How then does David in spirit call him Lord, saying, ^22:44‘[Jehovah] said to my Lord, ‘Sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool?’’ ^22:45If David then calls him Lord, how is he his son?”

^22:46And no man was able to answer him a word; neither did any man from that day forth dare to ask him any more questions.

^23:10“Neither be called teachers: for one is your Teacher, even Christ. ^23:11But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. ^23:12And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”

For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cumin; and have omitted the weightier matters of the Law: judgment, mercy, and faith. ^23:34“Therefore, behold, I send to you Prophets and wise men and scribes; and some of them you shall kill and crucify; and some of them you shall scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city, ^23:35that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zachariah son of Barachias, whom you slew between the Temple and the altar.

^23:36“Truly I say to you, that all these things shall come upon this generation.

Y ellos razonaron entre ellos mismos, diciendo, “Si dijéremos, ‘Del Cielo’, él nos dirá, ‘¿Por qué, pues, no le creísteis?’ ^21:26Y si dijéremos, ‘De los hombres’, tememos al pueblo: para todos consideran a Juan como un Profeta”.

^21:27Y respondiendo a Jesús, y dijo: “No podemos decir”. Y él les dijo, “Tampoco yo os digo por qué autoridad hago estas cosas”.

^21:28“Pero, ¿qué piensas? Un hombre tenía dos hijos; y vino al primero, y dijo: ‘Hijo, ve a trabajar hoy en mi viña’. ^21:29Él respondiendo y dijo, ‘No lo haré’; pero después, se arrepintió y se fue. ^21:30Y vino al segundo, y le dijo de la misma manera; y respondiendo él, dijo, ‘Yo lo haré, señor’; pero no fue. ^21:31¿Cuál de los dos hizo la voluntad de su padre?”. Le dijeron, “El primero”.

Jesús les dijo, “Verdaderamente os digo, que los recaudadores de impuestos y las prostitutas entrar en el Reino de Dios antes de os: ^21:32porque Juan vino a ustedes en el camino de justicia, y no le creísteis; pero los publicanos y las prostitutas le creyeron; y ustedes, cuando hubisteis visto esta, no arrepentisteis después, que podáis creerle.”.

¶El complemento   Los agricultores arrendatarios (los jefes de los sacerdotes y los fariseos) rebelaron contra el Señor de la viña (21:33 - 22:14)

^21:33“Oíd otra parábola: había un hombre que era un terrateniente, quien plantó una viña, y construyó un seto alrededor a ello, y cavó un lagar en ello, y construyó una torre, y lo arrendó a arrendatarios, y se fue a un país lejano. ^21:34Y cuando llegó el tiempo del fruto, envió sus siervos a los granjeros, para que recibieran su fruto. ^21:35Y los granjeros tomaron a sus siervos, y golpearon a uno, y mataron a otro, y apedrearon a otro. ^21:36De nuevo, envió a otros siervos más que al primero; y hicieron con ellos lo mismo. ^21:37Pero el último de todos él envió a su hijo a ellos, diciendo, ‘Reverenciarán a mi hijo’. ^21:38Pero cuando los campesinos vieron al hijo, dijeron entre sí: ‘Este es el heredero; Venid, nos deja a matarle, y tomemos posesión de su herencia. ^21:39Y le tomaron, y le echaron fuera de la viña, y le mataron. ^21:40Por lo tanto, cuando viene el señor de la viña, ¿qué hará con aquellos granjeros?”. ^21:41Le dijeron, “Él destruirá miserablemente a esos hombres malvados, y arrendará su viña a otros granjeros, que le rendirán los frutos en sus temporadas”.

^21:42Jesús les dijo, “¿Nunca leísteis en las Escrituras, ‘La piedra cual los constructores rechazaron, la misma se ha convertido en la cabeza de la esquina. Este es el haciendo de [Jehová], y es maravilloso en nuestros ojos’? ^21:43Por tanto os digo: el Reino de Dios será quitado de ustedes, y será dado a una nación que da sus frutos. ^21:44Y cualquiera que caiga sobre esta Piedra será quebrantado; pero sobre quien ello se caerá, le molerá a polvo”.

^21:45Y cuando los principales sacerdotes y los fariseos oyeron sus parábolas, percibieron que él hablaba de ellos. ^21:46Pero, aunque querían arrestarle, tenían miedo de la multitud, porque le tomaron para un Profeta.

^22:1Y respondiendo Jesús, y les habló de nuevo por parábolas, diciendo, ^22:2“El Reino del Cielo es como un rey que hizo una fiesta de bodas para su Hijo; ^22:3y envió fuera a sus siervos para llamar a los que fueron invitados a la boda; pero no vendrían. ^22:4De nuevo, envió fuera otros siervos, diciendo, ‘Diles quienes están invitados, ‘He aquí, he preparado mi cena; mis bueyes y mis engordados becerros son matados, y todo está listo; ven a la fiesta de bodas’’. ^22:5Pero ellos le ignoraron, y siguieron sus caminos: uno a su granja, y otro a su mercancía, ^22:6y el resto tomó sus siervos, y les trataron maliciosamente, y los mataron. ^22:7Pero cuando el rey oyó esto, estaba furioso, y envió fuera sus ejércitos y destruyó a esos asesinos, y se quemó arriba su ciudad.

^22:8“Entonces él dice a sus siervos, ‘La boda está preparada, pero los que fueron invitados no eran dignos. ^22:9Por lo tanto, id a las carreteras; y todos que hallaréis, invitad al matrimonio’. ^22:10Asi que esos siervos salieron a las carreteras; y reunieron juntos a todos que hallaron, tanto malo como bueno; y la boda estaba amueblada con invitados. ^22:11Y cuando el rey entró a ver a los convidados, y vio allí a un hombre que no tuvo prenda de boda; ^22:12y él le dice: ‘Amigo, ¿cómo entraste aquí no teniendo un prenda de boda?’ Y él se quedó sin habla. ^22:13Entonces el rey dijo a los siervos, ‘Atadle mano y pie; y llevadle lejos, y echadle en a oscuridad exterior. Allí será el llanto y el rechinar de dientes: ^22:14porque muchos son llamados, pero pocos son escogidos’”.

¶Lo opuesto   Jesús corrigió las falsas enseñanzas de los fariseos y saduceos sobre impuestos y la resurrección (22:15 - 33)

^22:15Entonces los fariseos fueron y consultaron cómo podrían enredarle en sus palabras. ^22:16Y le enviaron sus discípulos con los herodianos, diciendo, “Maestro, sabemos que usted eres verdadero, y enseñas el camino de Dios en verdad; y usted muestras deferencia a nadie: porque usted no está influenciado por las apariencias de los hombres. ^22:17Por lo tanto, dinos: ¿qué piensas? ¿Es lícito pagar impuestos a César, o no?”.

^22:18Pero Jesús percibió su maldad, y dijo, “¿Por qué me tientas, tú hipócritas? ^22:19Muéstrame el dinero del impuesto”. Y le trajeron una moneda de denario. ^22:20Entonces les dijo, “¿De quién es esta imagen e inscripción?”. ^22:21Le dicen, “De César”.

Entonces él les dijo, “Por tanto, dad a César lo que es de César, y dad a Dios lo que es de Dios”. ^22:22Cuando habían oído estas palabras, se maravillaron, y le dejaron, y siguieron su camino.

^22:23El mismo día, los saduceos vinieron a él, quien dicen que no hay resurrección, y le preguntaron, ^22:24diciendo, “Maestro, Moisés dijo, ‘Si un hombre muere, no teniendo hijos, su hermano se casará su mujer, y levantará simiente a su hermano’. ^22:25Ahora, siete hermanos estaban con nosotros; y el primero, habiendo casado con una mujer, murió; y no teniendo semilla, dejó a su esposa a su hermano; ^22:26igualmente el segundo, y el tercero, hasta el séptimo. ^22:27Y por último de todo, la mujer murió también. ^22:28En la resurrección, pues, de los siete, ¿cuál uno será su marido? Porque todos tuvieron a ella”. ^22:29Entonces respondiendo Jesús, y les dijo, “Erráis, no conociendo las Escrituras, ni el poder de Dios: ^22:30porque en la resurrección ni se casan, ni se dan en casamiento, sino son como los ángeles de Dios en el Cielo.

^22:31Pero en cuanto a la resurrección de los muertos, ¿no habéis leído lo que fue dicho a ustedes por Dios, diciendo, ^22:32‘Yo soy el Dios de Abraham, y el Dios de Isaac, y el Dios de Jacob’? Dios no es Dios de los muertos, sino de los vivos”. ^22:33Y cuando la multitud escuchó esto, se asombraron en su doctrina.

¶Lo opuesto   Los fariseos no podía responder a la pregunta de Cristo acerca del Hijo de David (22:34 - 46)

^22:34Pero cuando los fariseos habían oído que había puesto a los saduceos a silencio, estaban reunidos.

^22:35Entonces uno de ellos, quien era un abogado, le preguntó, probándole, y diciendo, ^22:36“Maestro, ¿cuál es el gran Mandamiento en la Ley?”. ^22:37Jesús le dijo, “‘Amarás a [Jehová] tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente’; ^22:38éste es el primero y grande Mandamiento. ^22:39Y el segundo es similar, ‘Amarás a tu prójimo como ti mismo’. ^22:40Toda la Ley y los Profetas dependen en estos dos Mandamientos”.

^22:41Mientras que los fariseos estaban reunidos, Jesús les preguntó, ^22:42diciendo, “¿Qué pensáis del Cristo? ¿De quién es hijo?”. Le dicen, “De David”.

^22:43Les dice, “¿Cómo entonces hace David en el Espíritu le llama Señor, diciendo, ^22:44‘[Jehová] dijo a mi Señor, ‘Siéntate en mi mano derecha, hasta que yo haga de tus enemigos tu escabel’’? ^22:45Pues, si David le llama Señor, ¿cómo es él su hijo?”.

^22:46Y ningún hombre pudo responderle una palabra; tampoco lo hizo ningún hombre a partir de ese día en adelante atreverse preguntarle alguna pregunta más.

§El complemento   Conclusión: Los líderes del Reino de Sion eran totalmente corrupto y malvado (23:1 - 39)

¶El complemento   Jesús advirtió a la multitud y sus discípulos a respetar la posición de los escribas y fariseos, pero no hacer sus obras (23:1 - 12)

^23:1Entonces habló Jesús a la multitud y a sus discípulos, ^23:2diciendo, “Los escribas y los fariseos se sientan en la cátedra de Moisés; ^23:3por lo tanto todo que te dicen a hacer, obedeced y hacedlo.

“Pero no hagáis conforme a sus obras: porque dicen, pero no hacen nada: ^23:4porque atan cargas que son pesados y gravoso a portar, y los ponen sobre los hombros de los hombres; pero ellos mismos no los moverán con uno de sus dedos. ^23:5Pero hacen todas sus obras para ser vistos de los hombres: hacen sus filacterias de ancho, y extienden los flecos de sus mantos; ^23:6y aman las habitaciones más altas en las fiestas, y los asientos principales en las sinagogas, ^23:7y los saludos en los mercados, y ser llamados de los hombres, ‘Rabino, Rabino’”.

^23:8“Pero no ser llamado Rabino: porque uno es vuestro Maestro, el Cristo, y todos ustedes son hermanos.

^23:9“Y no llaméis a ningún hombre tu padre espiritual sobre la tierra: porque sólo uno es tu Padre, quien está en el Cielo.

^23:10“Ni no ser llamado maestros: porque uno es vuestro Maestro, el Cristo. ^23:11Pero el que es el más grande entre ustedes será vuestro siervo. ^23:12Y cualquiera que exaltará él mismo será humillado; y el que humillará él mismo será exaltado”.

¶El complemento   Los escribas y fariseos perseguirá a los Apóstoles de Jesús hasta que Dios destruyó la ciudad de Jerusalén 70 dC (23:13 - 39)

^23:13“¡Pero ay de ustedes, escribas y fariseos, hipócritas! Porque cerráis el Reino del Cielo contra los hombres: porque ni entráis, ni a los que están entrando dejáis entrar. ^23:14¡Ay de ustedes, escribas y fariseos, hipócritas! Porque devoráis las casas de las viudas, y por una pretensión hacéis largas oraciones: por lo tanto recibiréis la condenación mayor. ^23:15¡Ay de ustedes, escribas y fariseos, hipócritas! Porque viajáis mar y tierra para hacer uno prosélito; y cuando él se hace, le haces dos veces más el niño del Infierno que ustedes mismos. ^23:16¡Ay de ustedes guías ciegos, que decís, ‘Quienquiera que jurará por el Templo, no es nada; pero quienquiera que jurará por el oro del Templo, es deudor’. ^23:17¡Insensatos y ciegos! Porque ¿cuál es mayor, el oro, o el Templo que santifica al oro? ^23:18Y decís, ‘Quienquiera que jurará por el altar, no es nada; pero quienquiera que jurará por la ofrenda que está sobre él, es deudor’. ^23:19¡Necios y ciegos! Porque ¿cuál es mayor, la ofrenda, o el altar que santifica la ofrenda? ^23:20Por lo tanto, quien jurará por el altar, jura por ello, y por todo lo que está sobre ello; ^23:21y quien jurará por el Templo, jura por ello, y por él que habita en ello ^23:22y el que jurará por el Cielo, jura por el trono de Dios, y por Él que está sentado sobre ello. ^23:23¡Ay de ustedes, escribas y fariseos, hipócritas! Porque diezmáis la menta y el eneldo, y el comino, sino habéis omitido los asuntos más importantes de la Ley: la justicia, y la misericordia y la fe. Estos diezmos deberías haber hecho, pero no dejar el otro deshecho. ^23:24¡Guías ciegos, que coláis fuera el jején, pero tragáis el camello! ^23:25¡Ay de ustedes, escribas y fariseos, hipócritas! Porque limpiáis fuera de la Copa y del plato, pero dentro están llenos de codicia y falta de autocontrol. ^23:26¡Fariseo ciego! Limpiar primero lo que está dentro de la taza y la placa, que el exterior de ellos puede estar limpio también. ^23:27¡Ay de ustedes, escribas y fariseos, hipócritas! Porque son como tumbas encaladas, que de hecho parecen hermosas exteriormente; sino dentro de ellos están llenos de huesos de muertos, y de toda impureza. ^23:28Aun así, también ustedes exteriormente parecéis justos a los hombres; sino dentro de ustedes están llenos de hipocresía e iniquidad. ^23:29¡Ay de ustedes, escribas y fariseos, hipócritas! Porque edificáis los sepulcros de los Profetas, y adornáis los sepulcros de los justos, ^23:30y decís, ‘Si nosotros habíamos estado en los días de nuestros padres, no hubiéramos participado con ellos en la sangre de los Profetas’. ^23:31Por lo tanto, ustedes son testigos de ustedes mismos, que ustedes son los hijos de los que mataron a los Profetas. ^23:32¡Llenad arriba, pues, la medida de tus padres!

^23:33“¡Serpientes, generación de víboras! ¿Cómo puedes escapáis la condenación del Infierno?”.

^23:34“Por tanto, he aquí, yo os envío Profetas, y sabios, y escribas; y algunos de ellos, mataréis y crucificaréis; y algunos de ellos, azotaréis en vuestras sinagogas, y perseguiréis desde ciudad en ciudad; ^23:35que sobre ustedes pueda venir toda la sangre justa derramada sobre la tierra, desde la sangre de Abel el justo, hasta la sangre de Zacarías, hijo de Baraquías, quien matasteis entre el Templo y el altar.

^23:36“Verdaderamente os digo, que todas estas cosas vendrán sobre esta generación.

^23:37“¡O Jerusalén, Jerusalén, usted que matas a los Profetas y apedreas a los que te son enviados! ¡Cuántas veces yo habría reunido a tus hijos juntos, como la gallina recoge sus polluelos debajo de sus alas! Pero no lo harías! ^23:38He aquí vuestra casa os es dejada desierta: ^23:39porque os digo, que no me veréis de aquí en adelante, hasta diréis, ‘Bendito el que viene en el Nombre de [Jehová]’”.
