^1:6And again, when he brings the First Begotten into the world, he says, “And let all the angels of God worship him.”

^1:7And of the angels he says, “Who makes his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.”

^1:10And, “You, Lord, in the beginning have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of your hands. ^1:11They shall perish, but you remain; and they shall all grow old like a garment. ^1:12And as a cloak you shall fold them up, and they shall be transformed; but you are the same, and your years shall not fail.”

^1:13But to which of the angels said he at any time, “Sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool”?

^1:14Are they not all ministering spirits, who were sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

^2:1Therefore we ought to give the more earnest attention to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we drift away.

^2:2For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just punishment, ^2:3how shall we escape punishment, if we neglect such great salvation?

Which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by them that heard him;

^2:4God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with various miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his will.

^2:5For he has not put the world to come, whereof we speak, in subjection to the angels.

^2:6But one in a certain place testified, saying, “What is man, that you are mindful of him? Or the son of man, that you visit him? ^2:7You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor, and set him over the works of your hands; ^2:8you have put all things in subjection under his feet.”

For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him.

But now we do not yet see all things put under him.

^2:9But we see Jesus, who for a short time was made lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor, that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

^2:10For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the Author of their salvation complete through sufferings.

^2:11For both he that sanctifies and they who are being sanctified are all of the same flesh. For which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers, ^2:12saying, “I will declare your Name to my brothers; in the midst of the Assembly will I sing praise to you.” ^2:13And again, “I will put my trust in him.” And again, “Behold I and the children whom God has given me.”

but he took on himself the fleshly seed of Abraham.

^2:17Therefore in all things he was obligated to be made like his brothers, so that he might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people:

^2:18for in that he himself has endured being tempted, he is able to help them that are tempted.

^3:1Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; ^3:2who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.

^3:3For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who has built the house has more honor than the house itself: ^3:4for every house is built by some man, but he that built all things is God.

^3:5And Moses truly was faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken afterward.

^3:6But Christ is faithful as a Son over his own house;

whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the goal.

^3:7Therefore as the Holy Spirit says, “Today if you will hear his voice, ^3:8harden not your hearts; as in the rebellion, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: ^3:9when your fathers tested me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.

^3:10“Therefore I was grieved with that generation; and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart; and they have not known my ways.’ ^3:11So I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter into my rest.’”

^3:12Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God. ^3:13But exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today”, lest any of you become hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. ^3:14For we become partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the goal.

^3:15While it is said, “Today if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the rebellion.” ^3:16For some rebelled, when they had heard the Gospel; nevertheless not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

^3:17But with whom was he grieved forty years? Was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcasses fell in the wilderness? ^3:18And to whom did he swear that they would not enter into his rest, but to them that did not believe? ^3:19So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

^4:1Therefore let us fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it: ^4:2for the Gospel was preached to us, as well as to them; but the Word preached did not benefit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

^4:3For we who have believed in Christ do enter into rest: as he said, “As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest.” (Although the works were finished from the foundation of the world: ^4:4for he spoke in a certain place of the seventh day on this manner, “And God rested the seventh day from all his works.” ^4:5And in this Scripture again, “If they shall enter into my rest.”)

^4:6Therefore seeing it remains that some must enter into it, and they to whom it was first preached did not enter in because of unbelief: ^4:7again, he limits a certain day, saying in David, “Today, after so long a time.” As it is said, “Today if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.” ^4:8For if Joshua had truly given them rest, then he would not have spoken afterward of another day.

^4:9Therefore there remains a rest to the people of God: ^4:10for he that has entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

^4:11Therefore let us be eager to enter into that rest, lest any man falls after the same example of unbelief: ^4:12for the Word of God is living and powerful; and sharper than any two-edged sword; piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow; and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart; ^4:13neither is there any creature that is not exposed in his sight, but all things are naked and opened to the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

^1:14¿No son todos espíritus ministrantes, quiénes fueron enviados fuera para ministrar a los que serán herederos de la salvación?

^2:1Por tanto, es necesario que con más diligencia atendamos a las cosas que hemos oído, no sea que nos deslicemos.

^2:2Porque si la palabra hablada por los ángeles era firme, y toda transgresión y desobediencia recibió un castigo justo, ^2:3¿Cómo escaparemos nosotros, si tuviéremos en poco una salvación tan grande?

Cual al principio, ello comenzó a ser hablado por el Señor, y nos fue confirmado por los que le escucharon;

^2:4Dios, también, los dando testimonio, ambos con señales y prodigios, y con varios milagros y dones del Espíritu Santo, según su voluntad.

^2:5Porque él no ha puesto el mundo por venir, de los cuales hablamos, en sujeción a los ángeles.

^2:6Pero uno en un lugar determinado testificó, diciendo, “¿Qué es el hombre, que te acuerdas de él? O el hijo del hombre, que le visites? ^2:7Le hiciste un poco más bajo que los ángeles; le coronaste de gloria y honor, y le pusiste sobre las obras de tus manos. ^2:8Has puesto todas las cosas en sujeción bajo sus pies”.

Porque en eso él puso todo en sujeción bajo él, dejó nada que no sea sujeto a él.

^2:9Pero vemos a Jesús, quien por un corto tiempo fue hecho más bajo que los ángeles por el sufrimiento de la muerte, coronado de gloria y honor, para que él, por la gracia de Dios, él debería gustar la muerte por cada hombre.

^2:10Porque era apropiado para Él, para quién son todas las cosas, y por quién son todas las cosas, en trayendo muchos hijos a la gloria, para hacer completa el Autor de su salvación a través de los sufrimientos.

^2:11Porque él que santifica y aquellos que son siendo santificados son todos de la misma carne; para cual causa él es no avergonzado a llamarlos hermanos, ^2:12diciendo, “Declararé tu Nombre a mis hermanos, en medio de la congregación te alabaré”. ^2:13Y otra vez, “Yo en él pondré mi confianza”. Y otra vez, “He aquí, yo y los hijos que Dios me dio”.

^2:17Por cuanto le era preciso ser en todo semejante a sus hermanos, para venir a ser misericordioso y fiel sumo sacerdote en lo que a Dios se refiere, para expiar los pecados del pueblo:

^2:18porque en cuanto él mismo padeció siendo tentado, es poderoso para socorrer a los que son tentados.

¶Lo opuesto   Cristo era digno de más gloria que Moisés porque Él es un Hijo en vez de un siervo (3:1 - 6)

^3:1Por tanto, hermanos santos, participantes del llamamiento celestial, considerad al Apóstol y sumo sacerdote de nuestra profesión, Cristo Jesús; ^3:2el cual fue fiel al que le constituyó, como también lo fue Moisés sobre toda su casa.

^3:3Porque de tanto mayor gloria que Moisés éste es estimado digno, cuanto tiene mayor dignidad que la casa el que la edificó: ^3:4porque toda casa es edificada por alguno; pero el que creó todas las cosas es Dios.

^3:5Y Moisés a la verdad fue fiel sobre toda su casa, como siervo, para testimonio de lo que después se había de decir;

^3:6pero Cristo, como hijo sobre su casa.

La cual casa somos nosotros, si retenemos firme hasta el fin la confianza y la gloria de la esperanza.

^3:12Mirad, hermanos, que en ninguno de ustedes haya corazón malo de incredulidad para apartarse del Dios vivo; ^3:13antes exhortaos los unos a los otros cada día, entre tanto que se dice, “Hoy”; para que ninguno de ustedes se endurezca por el engaño del pecado: ^3:14porque somos hechos participantes de Cristo, si retenemos firme hasta el fin el principio de nuestra confianza.

^3:15Entre tanto que se dice, “Si oyereis hoy su voz, no endurezcáis vuestros corazones, como en la provocación”. ^3:16Porque algunos de los que habían salido de Egipto con Moisés, habiendo oído, provocaron, aunque no todos.

^3:17Pero ¿con quiénes estuvo enojado cuarenta años? ¿No fue con los que pecaron, cuyos cuerpos cayeron en el desierto? ^3:18¿Y a quiénes juró que no entrarían en su reposo, sino a aquellos que no creyeron? ^3:19Y vemos que no pudieron entrar a causa de incredulidad.

¶El complemento   La creencia en el Evangelio resultará en el descanso perfecto de Dios para tu alma (4:1 - 13)

^4:1Temamos, pues, que quedando aún la promesa de entrar en su reposo, alguno de ustedes parezca no haberlo alcanzado: ^4:2porque también a nosotros se nos ha predicado el Evangelio como a ellos; pero no les aprovechó la Palabra predicada a los que la oyeron al no mezclarla con fe.

^4:3Pero nosotros que hemos creído entramos en el reposo, de la manera que él dijo, “Como he jurado en mi ira: si ellos entrarán en mi descanso”. (Aunque sus obras fueron acabadas desde el principio del mundo: ^4:4porque en cierto lugar dijo así del séptimo día, “Y reposó Dios de todas sus obras en el séptimo día”. ^4:5Y otra vez aquí, “Si ellos entrarán en mi descanso”.)

^4:6Así que, puesto que falta que algunos entren en él, y aquellos a quienes primero fue predicado no entraron por causa de incredulidad, ^4:7otra vez determina un cierto día, diciendo por medio de David, “Hoy, después de tanto tiempo”; como está dicho, “Si oyereis hoy su voz, no endurezcáis vuestros corazones”. ^4:8Porque si Jesús les hubiera dado el reposo, no hablaría después de otro día.

^4:9Por tanto, queda un reposo para el pueblo de Dios: ^4:10porque el que ha entrado en su reposo, también ha reposado de sus obras, como Dios de las suyas.

^4:11Procuremos, pues, entrar en aquel reposo; que ninguno caiga en semejante ejemplo de incredulidad: ^4:12porque la Palabra de Dios es viva y poderoso, y más penetrante que toda espada de dos filos, y penetra hasta partir el alma y el espíritu, y las coyunturas y los tuétanos, y discierne los pensamientos y las intenciones del corazón. ^4:13Y no hay cosa creada que no sea manifiesta en su presencia; antes todas las cosas están desnudas y abiertas a los ojos de Aquél a quien tenemos que dar cuenta.
