¹⁰He sends the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills. ¹¹They give drink to every beast of the field; the wild donkeys quench their thirst. ¹²By them shall the birds of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches. ¹³He waters the hills from his chambers; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your works.

¹⁴He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man, that he may bring forth food out of the earth; ¹⁵and wine that makes glad the heart of man, and olive oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengthens man’s heart. ¹⁶The trees of Jehovah are full of sap, the cedars of Lebanon, which he has planted, ¹⁷where the birds make their nests; as for the stork, the fir trees are her house. ¹⁸The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies. ¹⁹He appointed the moon for seasons; the sun knows his going down. ²⁰You make darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest creep forth. ²¹The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their food from God. ²²The sun arises, they gather themselves together, and lay themselves down in their dens. ²³Man goes forth to his work and to his labor until the evening.

²⁴O Jehovah, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your riches. ²⁵So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts. ²⁶There go the ships, and that sea creature, which you have made to play in it. ²⁷All of these wait upon you, that you may give them their food in due season. ²⁸That which you give them they gather; you open your hand, and they are filled with good; ²⁹you hide your face, and they are troubled; you take away their breath, and they die and return to their dust. ³⁰You send forth your Spirit, and they are created; and you renew the face of the earth.

³¹The glory of Jehovah shall endure forever; Jehovah shall rejoice in his works. ³²He looks on the earth, and it trembles; he touches the hills, and they smoke.

³³I will sing to Jehovah as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. ³⁴My meditation of him shall be sweet; I will be glad in Jehovah.

¹⁵He sends forth his Commandment upon earth; his Word runs very swiftly. ¹⁶He gives snow like wool; he scatters the hoarfrost like ashes. ¹⁷He casts forth his ice like morsels. Who can stand before his cold? ¹⁸He sends out his Word, and melts them; he causes his wind to blow, and the water to flow.

¹⁹He shows his Word to Jacob;

his Statutes and his Judgments to Israel.

¹³Like a father that pities his children, so Jehovah pities them that fear him: ¹⁴for he knows our frame; he remembers that we are only dust.

¹⁵As for man, his days are like grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes: ¹⁶for the wind passes over it, and it is gone; and its place shall know it no longer.

¹⁷But the mercy of Jehovah is from Eternity past to Eternity future upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children: ¹⁸to such as keep his Covenant, and to those that remember his Commandments to do them.
