What is the best Biblical definition of the Trinity?
“For there are three that bear witness in Heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one; and there are three that bear witness in earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree in one.” (1 John 5:7-8)
This particular text is called “The Johannine Comma”, because it is alleged that the Roman Catholic scholar Erasmus added the words “for there are three that bear witness in Heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one” into the Greek
text, which did not exist before then.
Now I will not go into great detail on this subject here, but try to provide a brief overview.
My own personal view is that even if Erasmus added the words to the Greek text, there is an abundance of textual evidence to suggest that those words also existed in much earlier Greek texts; and that they were referred to numerous times by what are known as the “church
fathers”. Therefore, as far as I am concerned, the words are the words of God, and are absolutely genuine Scripture.
An excellent defense for the inclusion of the Johannine comma was published by the Trinitarian Bible Society website some years ago.
I heartily recommend it to you for your information.
But even if the “Johannine Comma” is ignored, the Bible is full of evidence pointing to the truth of those words: “there are three that bear witness in Heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.”
Instead of repeating “what the church believes”, and then saying, “You should believe it because the church believes it”, I will simply show you passages of Scripture which clearly demonstrate that each Person of the Trinity (or Tri-unity) of God is God.
God the Father is God
Only one passage is cited, because it is obvious and uncontroversial:
“God, who at various times and in diverse manners spoke in time past to the fathers by the Prophets, has in these Last Days spoken to us by his Son” (Hebrews 1:1-2a)
Jesus is God:
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and God was the Word; the same Word was in the beginning with God.” (John 1:1-2)
Jesus is the Son of God, who was begotten by God the Father:
“For unto which of the angels said he at any time, “You are my Son; this day have I begotten you”? And again, “I will be a Father to him; and he shall be a Son to me”?” (Hebrews 1:5)
ALL of the angels of God were commanded to worship Jesus, clearly implying that Jesus was not an angel, since He was not included in “all”:
“And again, when he brings the First Begotten into the world, he says, ‘And let ALL the angels of God worship him.’” (Hebrews 1:6) [my emphasis]
The angels were created, or made by God:
And of the angels he says, “Who makes his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.” (Hebrews 1:7)
But Jesus was God. God the Father proclaimed Jesus as God.
“But to the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, endures into the Ages of the Ages; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your Kingdom. You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above
your companions.” (Hebrews 1:8-9)
Jesus was the Creator God of all things. This text clearly contrasts the perishing Creation of God with the unchanging Deity of God the Son:
“And, ‘You, Lord, in the beginning have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of your hands. They shall perish, but you remain; and they shall all grow old like a garment. And as a cloak you shall fold them up, and they shall be transformed;
but you are the same, and your years shall not fail.’” (Hebrews 1:10-12)
Jesus has the authority to forgive sins, which only God can do:
“And the scribes and Pharisees began to reason, saying, “Who is this that speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?” But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said to them, “Why do you reason in your hearts? Which is easier: to say, ‘Your
sins have been forgiven you’? Or to say, ‘Rise up and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of man has authority upon earth to forgive sins, (he said to the paralyzed man) I say to you: Arise, and take up your bed, and go into your house.” And immediately he rose up
before them, and took up that which he laid upon, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.” (Luke 5:21-25)
The demons fell down before Jesus and begged Him not to force them into the Bottomless Pit; and also asked permission to enter into the pigs:
“When he saw Jesus, he cried out; and fell down before him. And with a loud voice, he said, “What have I to do with you, Jesus, Son of God most high? I beg you, torment me not!” (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man: for oftentimes it had
caught him; and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he broke the bands, and was driven by the demon into the wilderness.)
And Jesus asked him, saying, “What is your name?” And he said, “Legion”, because many demons had entered into him. And they implored him that he would not command them to go out into the Abyss. And a herd of many pigs was there feeding on the mountain; and they implored
him that he would allow them to enter into them. And he gave them permission. Then the demons went out of the man, and entered into the pigs; and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and was choked.” (Luke 8:28 - 33)
The Holy Spirit is God:
Jesus gave us 3 very important attributes of the Person and Work of the Holy Spirit in this passage from the Gospel of John:
“But when the Comforter has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he shall testify of me” (John 15:26)
1) The Holy Spirit is spoken of as “the Comforter”. This is one of his ministries for Believers in Christ.
2) Jesus spoke of the Holy Spirit many times as masculine “He”, not “it” in the text from John 15:26-16:15. The Holy Spirit is a masculine Divine Person, not a “thing” or a “power”; and certainly NOT female!
3) “Who proceeds from the Father” The Holy Spirit is a Divine Person who “proceeds from the Father”. He is “the Spirit of God” and is God. He is NOT a “Ghost”!
4) “He shall testify of me”: The Holy Spirit testifies of Christ. He never speaks of Himself; but only of Christ. His main ministry is to point sinners and Believers to Jesus Christ as the solution for all of their problems I believe that it is wrong for believers
to pray directly to the Holy Spirit, since He is always directing us to the Lord Jesus Christ.
5) He is “the Spirit of Truth”;
John 14:15-17: “If you love me, keep my Commandments; and I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may remain with you forever: even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see him, nor know him. But
you know him: for he dwells with you, and shall be in you.”
Other scriptures about the Holy Spirit throughout the Bible:
The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of Judgment:
“Nevertheless I tell you the truth, it is good for you that I go away: for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send him to you. And when he has come, he will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
of sin, because they believe not on me; of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and you see me no more; of judgment, because the prince of this world has been sentenced.” (Juan 16:7-11)
The Holy Spirit will guide you into all Truth:
“Nevertheless when he, the Spirit of Truth, has come, he will guide you into all Truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak;
The Holy Spirit will show us things to come:
“and he will show you things to come.”
The Holy Spirit will glorify Jesus:
“He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it to you.”
The Holy Spirit will take the things of Christ and show them to us:
“All things that the Father has are mine; therefore I said, that he shall take of mine, and shall show it to you.” (Juan 16:13-15)
The Holy Spirit gathers the promises of Jehovah, so that not one of them shall fail:
“Seek out of the Book of Jehovah, and read: not one of these promises shall fail, and not one shall want her mate: for my mouth has commanded it, and his Spirit has gathered them.” (Isaías 34:16)
The Holy Spirit participated in the Creation of all things:
“In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth; and the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God brooded upon the face of the waters.” (Genesis 1:1-2)
The Holy Spirit is Almighty Jehovah God:
“Who has measured the water in the hollow of his hand, and measured heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? Who has directed the Spirit of Jehovah, or being his counselor
has taught him? With whom took he counsel; and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and showed to him the way of understanding? Behold, the nations are like a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the fine dust of the balance;
behold, he takes up the islands as a very little thing. And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor are the beasts of it sufficient for a burnt offering. All nations before him are like nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.” (Isaiah 40:12-17)
The Holy Spirit has anointed the Messiah:
“Behold my Servant, whom I uphold; my Elect, in whom my soul delights. I have put my Spirit upon him; and he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.” (Isaiah 42:1)
The Holy Spirit and God the Father sent Jesus into the world to die for our sins:
“Come near to me; hear this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning. From the time that it was, I am there; and now the Lord Jehovah, and his Spirit, has sent me.’” (Isaiah 48:16)
Jesus baptizes Believers in the Holy Spirit. A pastor baptizes a new believer in water to follow the model of the Lord Jesus Christ who baptizes believers in the Holy Spirit. The Greek word for “in”, in both occurrences in this text, is “en”, which is locative, not
instrumental.
“I truly have baptized you in water, but he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit.” (Mark 1:8) “Εγω μεν εβαπτισα υμας εν υδατι αυτος δε βαπτισει υμας εν πνευματι αγιω.”
A sin against the Holy Spirit can never be forgiven:
“but he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to Eternal Damnation.” (Mark 3:29)
The Holy Spirit empowers Believers to preach the Gospel and do the will of God:
“But you shall receive power, after the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria; and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
“And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God with boldness.” (Acts 4:31)
The Holy Spirit spoke prophecies by the mouth of David and the prophets of God:
“Men, brethren: it was necessary to fulfill this Scripture, which the Holy Spirit by the mouth of David spoke before concerning Judas, who was guide to them that took Jesus” (Acts 1:16)
"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture comes of one’s own interpretation: for the prophecy came at no time by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit" 2 Peter 1:20-21.
“And when they did not agree among themselves, they departed, after Paul had spoken one word, “Well spoke the Holy Spirit by Isaiah the Prophet to our fathers..." (Acts 28:25).
Ananias lied to the Holy Spirit, whom Peter said was God:
“But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back part of the price of the land? While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own power? Why have you conceived this thing in
your heart? You have not lied to men, but to God.” (Acts 5:3-4)
The Holy Spirit is given to those who obey God:
“And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to them that obey him” (Acts 5:32)
The Holy Spirit spoke to Philip to tell him to witness to the Ethiopian Eunuch:
“Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near, and join yourself to this chariot.” And Philip ran there to him; and he heard him read the Prophet Isaiah; and he said, “Do you understand what you read?” And he said, “How can I, unless some man should guide me?” And he
asked Philip that he would come up and sit with him.” (Acts 8:29-31)
The Assemblies of Believers in Judea were comforted by the Holy Spirit:
“Then the Assemblies had rest throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria, and were strengthened. And, walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.” (Acts 9:31)
I was being blessed so much that I didn’t want to stop! The Bible is full of references to the Holy Spirit: his Person and his work.
Yes, my friends, all three Persons of the Holy Tri-unity of Jehovah God are God, according to the Holy Scriptures. Yet, the Bible also clearly states that there is only one God, not three:
“for there is only one God, and one Mediator between God and men: the Man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom for all mankind, to be testified in due time.” 1 Timothy 2:5-6)
“There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one Faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” (Ephesians 4:4-6)
“You believe that there is one God; you do well; the demons also believe, and tremble.” (James 2:19)
“Hear, O Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah” (Deuteronomy 6:4)
How to reconcile all of these Scriptures? There is only one way to do it: simply believe what it says, and leave it at that. We do not need to try to “figure everything out” in order to walk with God and do his will.
“The secret things belong to Jehovah our God, but those things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this Law.” (Deuteronomy 29:29)
How to be saved
Sinner friend! Is the Lord Jesus drawing you to come to Him? Do not resist his work in your heart! This means that you have hope, because if your heart is not troubled by your sins and you are perfectly happy to be a sinner apart from God, then you will certainly
go to Hell; and later, the Lake of Fire!
There is no hope in the false god “Allah”, for he is the devil! He only wants your destruction!
Yield yourself to the one true God Jehovah, and repent of your sins and turn to the Lord Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for your sins, and rose again from the dead on the third day!
Jesus Christ is the only Way to Heaven; any other way (Islam, Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Hinduism, Buddhism, Bahai etc) will lead you into Hell.
“Jesus says to him, ‘I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: NO MAN comes to the Father, but through me’” John 14:6.
You can be saved, right now, if you want to know that you have Eternal Life in Heaven waiting for you when you die! Use this prayer to repent and ask Jesus to forgive your sins and to come into your life, right now!
“Lord Jesus, I know that I have sinned against YOU. I am no good, and you are righteous! You are my only hope for salvation! I believe that you died on the cross for my sins, you were buried, and you rose again from the dead on the third day. I want you to come into
my life and be my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart right now. Forgive me for all my sins, and save my soul. In the mighty Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen!”

¿Cuál es la mejor definición bíblica de la Trinidad?
“Porque son tres que dan testimonio en el Cielo: el Padre, el Verbo y el Espíritu Santo; y estos tres son uno; y son tres los que dan testimonio en la tierra: el Espíritu, el agua y la sangre; y estos tres acuerdan en uno.” (1 Juan 5:7-8)
Este texto en particular se llama "La coma joánica", porque se alega que el erudito católico romano Erasmo añadió las palabras “Porque son tres que dan testimonio en el Cielo: el Padre, el Verbo y el Espíritu Santo; y estos tres son uno;” en el texto griego, que no
existía antes de esa fecha.
Ahora bien, no entraré en grandes detalles sobre este tema aquí, pero intentaré proporcionar una breve descripción general.
Mi opinión personal es que incluso si Erasmo añadió las palabras al texto griego, hay abundante evidencia textual que sugiere que esas palabras también existían en textos griegos mucho más antiguos; y que fueron mencionados en numerosas ocasiones por los conocidos
como los “padres de la iglesia”. Por lo tanto, en lo que a mí respecta, las palabras son las palabras de Dios y son Escrituras absolutamente genuinas.

Pero incluso si se ignora la “coma joánica”, la Biblia está llena de evidencia que apunta a la verdad de esas palabras: “Porque son tres que dan testimonio en el Cielo: el Padre, el Verbo y el Espíritu Santo; y estos tres son uno;”
En lugar de repetir “lo que la iglesia cree” y luego decir: “Debes creerlo porque la iglesia lo cree”, simplemente te mostraré pasajes de las Escrituras que demuestran claramente que cada Persona de la Trinidad (o Triunidad) de Dios es Dios.
Dios el Padre es Dios
Sólo se cita un pasaje, porque es obvio y no controvertido.:
“Dios, quien (en diversos momentos y de diversas maneras) habló en el pasado tiempo a los padres por los Profetas, nos ha hablado en estos Últimos Días por medio de su Hijo” (Hebreos 1:1-2a).
Jesús es Dios:
“En el principio era el Verbo, y el Verbo era con Dios, y el Dios era el Verbo; el misma Verbo fue en el principio con Dios" (Juan 1:1-2).
Jesús es el Hijo de Dios, que fue engendrado por Dios Padre:
“Porque ¿a cuál de los ángeles dijo Dios en algún momento, “Tú eres mi Hijo; este día te he engendrado?”. Y otra vez, “Yo seré un padre para él; y él será un hijo para mí?” (Hebreos 1:5).
A TODOS los ángeles de Dios se les ordenó adorar a Jesús, lo que implica claramente que Jesús no era un ángel, ya que no estaba incluido en “todos”:
“Y otra vez, cuando él trae el primer engendrado dentro el mundo, dice, “Y deja todos los ángeles de Dios le adoren” (Hebreos 1:6). [mi énfasis]
Los ángeles fueron creados o hechos por Dios:

Jesús era el Dios Creador de todas las cosas. Este texto contrasta claramente la Creación perecedera de Dios con la Deidad inmutable de Dios Hijo:
“Y, 'Tú, [Jehová], en el principio has puesto los cimientos de la tierra, y los cielos son las obras de tus manos. Ellos perecerán, sino tú permaneces; y todos ellos se envejecerán como una vestidura; y como un manto los rodarás arriba, y serán transformados; pero
tú eres el mismo, y tus años no acabarán'” (Hebreos 1:10-12).
Jesús tiene la autoridad para perdonar pecados, lo cual sólo Dios puede hacer:
“Y los escribas y los fariseos comenzaron a razonar, diciendo, “¿Quién es este quien habla blasfemias? ¿Quién puede perdonar los pecados, sino solo Dios?”. Pero cuando Jesús percibió sus pensamientos, él respondiendo, les dijo, “¿Por qué razonas en tus corazones?
¿Cuál es más fácil: decir: ‘Tus pecados te han sido perdonados’? O decir, ‘Levántate y camina’? Pero de modo que ustedes pueden saber que el Hijo del Hombre tiene autoridad sobre la tierra para perdonar los pecados (le dijo al paralítico) te digo: levántate, toma arriba
tu cama y entra en tu casa”. Y inmediatamente se levantó delante de ellos, y él tomó arriba lo que él había sido tumbando sobre, y partió a su propia casa, glorificando a Dios" (Lucas 5:21-25).
Los demonios se postraron ante Jesús y le rogaron que no los obligara a entrar en el abismo; y ellos también pidió permiso desde Jesús para entrar en los cerdos:
“Cuando vio a Jesús, gritó fuera; y cayó ante él; y con una voz fuerte, dijo, ¿Qué tengo que ver contigo, Jesús, el Hijo de Dios más alto? Te lo ruego, no me atormentes! (Porque él había ordenado al espíritu inmundo que saliera del hombre; por muchas veces ello le
había atrapado; se le mantuvo atado con cadenas y en grilletes; y rompió las cadenas, y él fue impulsado por el demonio al desierto.) Y Jesús le preguntó, diciendo, “¿Cuál es su nombre?”. Y él dijo, “Legión”. Porque muchos demonios habían entrado en él. Y le imploraron
que él no les ordenaría salir dentro del abismo. Y una manada de muchos cerdos estaba allí alimentándose en la montaña; y le imploraban que él les permitiría entrar en ellos; y él les dio permiso. Entonces los demonios salieron del hombre y entraron en los cerdos; y la
manada violentamente corrieron abajo un lugar empinado hasta el lago, y se ahogó" (Lucas 8:28 - 33).
El Espíritu Santo es Dios:
Jesús nos dio 3 atributos muy importantes de la Persona y Obra del Espíritu Santo en este pasaje del Evangelio de Juan:
“Pero cuando el Consolador ha llegado, a quien yo os enviaré del Padre, aun el Espíritu de verdad, quien procede desde el Padre, él dará testimonio de mí” (Juan 15:26).
1) Se habla del Espíritu Santo como “el Consolador”. Éste es uno de sus ministerios para los creyentes en Cristo.
2) Jesús habló del Espíritu Santo muchas veces como “Él” masculino, no “ello” en el texto de Juan 15:26-16:15. El Espíritu Santo es una Persona Divina y masculina, no una “cosa” o un “poder”; ¡Y ciertamente NO mujer!
3) “Quien procede desde el Padre”: El Espíritu Santo es una Persona Divina que “procede desde el Padre”. Él es “el Espíritu de Dios” y es Dios. ¡Él NO es un “fantasma”!
4) “Él dará testimonio de mí”: El Espíritu Santo testifica de Cristo. Él nunca habla de sí mismo; pero sólo de Cristo. Su principal ministerio es señalar a los pecadores y creyentes a Jesucristo como la solución a todos sus problemas. Creo que está mal que los creyentes
oren directamente al Espíritu Santo, ya que Él siempre nos está dirigiendo al Señor Jesucristo.
5) Él es “el Espíritu de la Verdad”;
Juan 14:15-17: “Si me amáis, guardad mis Mandamientos; y yo rogaré al Padre, y él os dará otro Consolador, para que esté con ustedes para siempre; el Espíritu de verdad, a quien el mundo no puede recibir: porque no le ve, ni le conoce. Pero ustedes le conocéis: porque
él mora con ustedes, y estará en ustedes".
Otras escrituras sobre el Espíritu Santo a lo largo de la Biblia:
TEl Espíritu Santo convence al mundo de pecado, de justicia y de juicio:
“Sin embargo, os digo la verdad, es bueno para os que me voy: porque si yo no me voy, el Consolador no vendrá a ustedes; pero si me voy, le enviaré a él para ustedes. Y cuando él ha venido, convencerá al mundo de pecado, de justicia y de juicio: de pecado, porque
no creen en mí; de justicia, porque voy a mi Padre, y no me veréis más; y de juicio, porque el príncipe de este mundo ha sido sentenciado" (Juan 16:7-11).
El Espíritu Santo te guiará a toda la Verdad:
“Pero cuando el Espíritu deverdad venga, él os guiará a toda verdad: porque no hablará de sí mismo, sino que hablará todo lo que oiga" Juan 16:13a.
El Espíritu Santo nos mostrará cosas por venir:
“él os mostrará las cosas por venir" Juan 16:13b.
El Espíritu Santo glorificará a Jesús:
“Él me glorificará: porque él recibirá de lo mío, y él lo mostrará a ustedes".
El Espíritu Santo tomará las cosas de Cristo y nos las mostrará:
“Todo lo que tiene el Padre, es mío; por eso dije que tomará de lo mío, y él lo mostrará a ustedes" (Juan 16:13-15).
El Espíritu Santo recoge las promesas de Jehová, para que ninguna de ellas falle:
“Buscad en el Libro de Jehová y leed, ninguna de estas promesas fallará, y nadie le faltará su compañero: porque mi boca ha mandado a ello, y su Espíritu los ha reunido” (Isaías 34:16).
El Espíritu Santo participó en la Creación de todas las cosas:
“En el principio Dios creó al Cielo y la tierra; y la tierra estaba desordenada, y vacía; y las tinieblas estaban sobre la faz del abismo; y el Espíritu de Dios se movía sobre la faz de las aguas” (Génesis 1:1-2).
El Espíritu Santo es Jehová Dios Todopoderoso:
"¿Quién ha medido las aguas con el hueco de su mano, y ha medido los cielos con su palmo, y ha comprendido el polvo de la tierra en una medida, y ha pesado los montes con balanza y con pesas los collados? ¿Quién ha enseñado al Espíritu de Jehová, o siendo su consejero,
le ha enseñado? ¿Con quién él tomó consejo; y quién le instruyó, y le enseñó en el camino del juicio, y le enseñó conocimiento, y le mostró el camino del entendimiento? He aquí, las naciones son como la gota de un balde, y son contadas como el polvo fino de la balanza;
he aquí, él toma arriba las islas como una cosa muy pequeña. Y el Líbano no es suficiente para quemar, ni sus animales son suficientes para una ofrenda quemada. Todas las naciones ante él son como nada; y le son contados como menos que nada y vanidad" (Isaías 40:12-17).
El Espíritu Santo ha ungido al Mesías:
“He aquí mi Siervo, yo le sostendré; mi Escogido en quien mi alma tiene contentamiento. He puesto sobre él mi Espíritu, él traerá juicio a las naciones" (Isaías 42:1).
El Espíritu Santo y Dios Padre enviaron a Jesús al mundo para morir por nuestros pecados:
“Acercaos a mí, oíd esto; desde el principio no hablé en secreto; desde el tiempo que fue, estoy ahí; y ahora el Señor Jehová y su Espíritu me han enviado" (Isaías 48:16).
Jesús bautiza a los creyentes en el Espíritu Santo. Un pastor bautiza a un nuevo creyente en agua para seguir el modelo del Señor Jesucristo quien bautiza a los creyentes en el Espíritu Santo. La palabra griega para “en”, en ambas apariciones en este texto, es “en”,
que es locativa, no instrumentales.
“Yo a la verdad os he bautizado en agua; pero él os bautizará en el Espíritu Santo” (Marcos 1:8). “Εγω μεν εβαπτισα υμας εν υδατι αυτος δε βαπτισει υμας εν πνευματι αγιω.”
Un pecado contra el Espíritu Santo nunca puede ser perdonado:
“pero cualquiera que blasfemare contra el Espíritu Santo, no tiene jamás perdón, sino está sujeto a condenación eterna” (Marcos 3:29).
El Espíritu Santo da poder a los creyentes para predicar el Evangelio y hacer la voluntad de Dios:
“pero recibiréis poder cuando haya venido sobre ustedes el Espíritu Santo; y me seréis testigos, a la vez, en Jerusalén, en toda Judea, en Samaria, y hasta las partes más extremas de la Tierra” (Hechos 1:8).
“Y cuando hubieron orado, el lugar en que estaban congregados tembló; y todos fueron llenos del Espíritu Santo, y hablaron la Palabra de Dios con denuedo" (Hechos 4:31).
El Espíritu Santo habló profecías por boca de David y de los profetas de Dios:
“Hombres, hermanos, era necesario que se cumpliese la Escritura la cual el Espíritu Santo habló antes por boca de David acerca de Judas, que fue guía de los que prendieron a Jesús" (Hechos 1:16).
“Sabiendo esto primero, que ninguna profecía de la Escritura viene de cualquier interpretación privada: porque la profecía no llegó en ningún momento por la voluntad del hombre, pero los santos hombres de Dios hablaron como fueron llevados a lo largo por el Espíritu
Santo" (2 Pedro 1:20-21)
“Y como no estuvieron de acuerdo entre sí, partiendo ellos, les dijo Pablo esta palabra, “Bien habló el Espíritu Santo por el Profeta Isaías a nuestros padres..." (Hechos 28:25).
Ananías mintió al Espíritu Santo, de quien Pedro dijo que era Dios:
“Y dijo Pedro, “Ananías, ¿por qué ha llenado Satanás tu corazón para que mintieses al Espíritu Santo, y defraudases del precio de la heredad? Reteniéndola, ¿no se te quedaba a ti? Y vendida, ¿no estaba en tu poder? ¿Por qué pusiste esto en tu corazón? No has mentido
a los hombres, sino a Dios” (Hechos 5:3-4).
El Espíritu Santo es dado a quienes obedecen a Dios:
“Y nosotros somos testigos suyos de estas cosas, y también el Espíritu Santo, el cual ha dado Dios a los que le obedecen” (Hechos 5:32).
El Espíritu Santo le habló a Felipe para decirle que testificara al eunuco etíope:
“Y el Espíritu dijo a Felipe, “Acércate y júntate a este carro”. Y corriendo Felipe hacia él, le oyó que leía el Profeta Isaías, y le dijo, “¿Entiendes lo que lees?”. Y dijo, “¿Cómo podré, a no ser que alguien me enseñe?”. Y rogó a Felipe que subiese y se sentase
con él" (Hechos 8:29-31).
Las Asambleas de Creyentes en Judea fueron consoladas por el Espíritu Santo:
“Entonces las Asambleas tenían paz por toda Judea, y Galilea, y Samaria; y se fortalecieron. Y, andando en el temor del Señor y en el consuelo del Espíritu Santo, se multiplicaban" (Hechos 9:31).
¡Estaba siendo tan bendecida que no quería parar! La Biblia está llena de referencias al Espíritu Santo: su Persona y su obra.
Sí, amigos míos, las tres Personas de la Santa Triunidad de Jehová Dios son Dios, según las Sagradas Escrituras. Sin embargo, la Biblia también afirma claramente que hay un solo Dios, no tres:
“"porque hay solo uno Dios, y solo único mediador entre Dios y los hombres, el hombre Jesús Cristo; quien se dio a sí mismo un rescate por todos, ser testificado a su debido tiempo” 1 Timoteo 2:5-6).
“"Hay uno cuerpo, y uno Espíritu, como sois también llamados en una misma esperanza de vuestro llamamiento. Uno Señor, una fe, uno bautismo, uno Dios y Padre de todos, el cual es sobre todo, y por todo, y en todos ustedes” (Efesios 4:4-6).
“Tú crees que hay uno Dios; haces bien; también los demonios creen y tiemblan” (Jacobo 2:19).
“Oye, oh Israel: Jehová nuestro Dios es uno Jehová” (Deuteronomio 6:4).
¿Cómo reconciliar todas estas Escrituras? Sólo hay una manera de hacerlo: simplemente creer lo que dice y dejarlo así. No necesitamos tratar de “resolver todo” para poder caminar con Dios y hacer su voluntad.
“Las cosas secretas pertenecen a Jehová nuestro Dios; pero las reveladas son para nosotros y para nuestros hijos para siempre, a fin de que cumplamos todas las palabras de esta Ley” (Deuteronomio 29:29).
Como ser salvado
¡Amigo pecador! ¿El Señor Jesús te está atrayendo a venir a Él? ¡No resistas su obra en tu corazón! Esto significa que tienes esperanza, porque si tu corazón no eres turbado por tus pecados y estás perfectamente feliz de ser pecador apartado de Dios, entonces ciertamente
irás al Infierno; y más tarde, ¡el Lago de Fuego!
¡No hay esperanza en el dios falso “Alá”, porque él es el diablo! ¡Él sólo quiere tu destrucción!
¡Entrégate al único Dios verdadero Jehová, y arrepiéntete de tus pecados y vuélvete al Señor Jesucristo, quien murió en la cruz por tus pecados y resucitó de nuevo de entre los muertos al tercer día!
Jesucristo es el único Camino al Cielo; Cualquier otro camino (islam, mormonismo, testigos de Jehová, hinduismo, budismo, bahá’í, etc) te llevará al Infierno.
Juan 14:6 “Jesús le dice: Yo soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida: nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí”.
¡Puedes ser salvado ahora mismo si quieres saber que tienes Vida Eterna en el Cielo, esperándote cuando mueras! Utilice esta oración para arrepentirse y pedirle a Jesús que perdone sus pecados y que entre en su vida, ¡ahora mismo!
“Señor Jesús, sé que he pecado contra TI. ¡No soy bueno y tú eres justo! Creo que moriste en la cruz por mis pecados, fuiste enterrado y resucitaste de entre los muertos al tercer día. Quiero que vengas a mi vida y seas mi Señor y Salvador. Por favor entra en mi
corazón ahora mismo. Perdóname por todos mis pecados y salva mi alma. En el poderoso Nombre de Jesús, oro, ¡Amén!”
